Abstract
Procedure for manufacturing a flexible complex laminate, which carries transferable graphic motifs, and a complex laminate made by said process. It includes associating the cellulose laminate bearing the printed graphic motifs with an interposed layer of a poly-olefinic material such as low density polyethylene and two coats of a nitrocellulose-based varnish a protective self-adhesive laminate, with its interior face re-covered by a layer of solventless silicone an intermediate layer of a self-adhesive solventless material which is stuck to the support and the protector to assure its resistance to delaminating and an exterior layer of a non-stick material in respect of the packed articles, such as wax or paraffin. Applicable for use in the form of a roll in automatic packing machines for confectionary and similar products.< IMAGE >The fabrication of complex flexible laminate carrying transfer graphics comprises e.g. waxing of the exterior of a cellulose-based printed sheet provided with two coats of nitrocellulose-based varnish. An independent claim is also included for the product which has an intermediate layer of e.g. low-density polyethylene and a second intermediate layer of adhesive material not containing solvents. This gives adhesion to the printed sheet and to a protective sheet internally coated with silicone not containing solvents and, externally coated with the wax, not adhering to the food product being packaged. The process is used to produce coils of food packaging material.
