Abstract

Método de tratamiento de líquidos radioactivos procedentes de operaciones nucleares. Dicho método se caracteriza porque comprende poner en contacto dichos líquidos radioactivos con lignito en condiciones oxidantes y a un pH de 4 a 6, 5. El medio oxidante se consigue incorporando agua oxigenada al líquido a tratar y el pH se consigue incorporando ácido bórico. El tratamiento puede llevarse a cabo bien en un sistema de columnas empaquetadas con lignito, o bien en un tanque agitado. Aplicación para la descontaminación radioactiva de los líquidos refrigerantes empleados en las centrales nucleares.
