Un procedimiento para la disgregación de arcillas ricas en ácido silícico, mediante calcinación previa de las mismas a temperaturas entre alrededor de 900 y 1.100ºC preferentemente a 1000º C y un tratamiento consecutivo con álcali, especialmente lejía sódica, caracterizado porque el tratamiento se realiza con una lejía alcalina de más de 20% álcali, calculado como hidróxido, preferentemente de aproximadamente 30% , a temperaturas entre 70 y 100ºC, preferiblemente a temperatura de ebullición, durante un tiempo relativamente corto, preferiblemente de 15 a 30 minutos, después de lo cual el residuo obtenido sigue siendo tratado por el procedimiento de disgregación por sinterización.
