Abstract

Se ha desarrollado un procedimiento para la preparación (fabricación) a temperatura moderada de LiMn{sub,2}O{sub,4} y de las espinelas derivadas LiCoyMn{sub,2-y}O{sub,4} (0 < y <= 0.67). El método conlleva la preparación inicial de un precursor de Mn o un precursor mixto de Mny Co mediante una reacción de coprecipitación con n-butilamina. Posteriormente el precursor se mezcla con un sal o hidróxido de litio y se tratan térmicamente a temperaturas moderadas (400º-650°C). Las espinelas sintetizadas se han empleado como materiales catódicos en baterías recargables de litio. El LiMn{sub,2}O{sub,4} sintetizado según este procedimiento presenta elevadas prestaciones electroquímicas similares a muestras obtenidas a temperaturas y tiempos de reacción superiores. Las espinelas dopadas con cobalto presentan una retención de la capacidad durante el ciclaje próxima al 100%.
