EL PROCEDIMIENTO PARA REFINADO CONTINUO, EN PARTICULAR DE MASAS DE CACAO, DEBE DESARROLLARSE DE TAL MODO, QUE SE EVITE CUALQUIER ELEVACION DE TEMPERATURA DE LA MASA QUE VA A SER TRATADA MEDIANTE ESTERILIZACION A TRAVES DE ROZAMIENTO INTERIOR, CON OBJETO DE EVITAR EL SOBRECALENTAMIENTO, PERJUDICIAL PARA EL PRODUCTO, QUE SE PRODUCE CUANDO SE SOBREPASA AMPLIAMENTE LA TEMPERATURA DE ESTERILIZACION OPTIMA. DE ACUERDO CON LA INVENCION, LA TEMPERATURA DE ESTERILIZACION DE LA MASA DE CACAO SE OBTIENE EXCLUSIVAMENTE POR AFLUENCIA TERMICA DEL EXTERIOR A TRAVES DE LAS PAREDES DEL EQUIPO DE ESTERILIZACION QUE RECIBE LA MASA. LA MASA DE CACAO SE SUELTA POR MEDIO DE ELEMENTOS DE RASQUETEADO MOVILES DESDE LA SUPERFICIE INTERIOR DE LA PARED CALENTADA EXTERIORMENTE DE LA CARCASA DEL ESTERILIZADOR Y SE MEZCLA LENTAMENTE, DE FORMA TRANSVERSAL AL EJE LONGITUDINAL DE LA CARCASA, EXPANSIONANDOSE DESPUES DE LA SALIDA A PARTIR DE LA CARCASA Y TRANSPORTANDOSE A CONTINUACION PARA UN REFINADO POR CAPA FINA.
