Abstract

The control system(10) for an engine valve(12) is of the type having a camshaft(18) acting on a valve stem(20) via a an arm(22) actuated by a corresponding cam(24) of the shaft(18). The arm(22) has a first pressure end(22A) which oscillates on a pressure part(26) supported on another part(S) of the engine. A second control end(22B) co-operates with the valve stem(20) and is of the type including an adjuster, for adjusting the height the pressure part(26) by screwing it in the support(S), and a retainer for retaining the end(22A) on the pressure part(26). The height adjuster and the retainer have a common screw(34), carried on the pressure support(26), having a nut-head(38) acting on the part(22A) and driving the pressure part(26). This part(26) is connected to a circuit(50) which lubricates the surfaces of the parts(26) and (22) which are in contact with each other.
