Abstract
Se describe un procedimiento para preparar de forma selectiva ácido acético a partir de una alimentación gaseosa de etano, etileno o mezclas de los mismos, así como oxígeno, a una temperatura elevada, sobre un catalizador que contiene los elementos W, X, Y y Z en la relación gramo-átomo a:b:c:d, asociados con oxígeno. En la fórmula W{sub,a}X{sub,b}Y{sub,c}Z{sub,d} (I), X representa uno o varios elementos seleccionados entre el grupo compuesto por Pd, Pt, Ag y/o Au; Y representa uno o varios elementos seleccionados entre el grupo V, Nb, Cr, Mn, Fe, Sn, Sb, Cu, Zn, U, Ni y/o Bi; Z representa uno o varios elementos seleccionados entre el grupo Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Br, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Sc, Y, La, Ti, Zr, Hf, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, B, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Si, Ge, Pb, P, As y/o Te; a es igual a 1, b es un número mayor de 0, c es un número mayor de 0 y d es un número de 0 a 2. También se describe dicho catalizador.
