SE TRATA DE UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PRODUCCION DE PELICULAS POLIMERICAS, POR EJEMPLO POLIBENZIMIDAZOL (PBI), QUE CONSISTE EN FORMAR UNA MEMBRANA POROSA COAGULANDO UNA SOLUCION CON DOPADO POLIMERICO EN UN BAÑO DE COAGULACION LIQUIDA QUE CONTIENE UN ELEMENTO NO DISOLVENTE SOLO O UNA MEZCLA DE NO DISOLVENTE Y DE DISOLVENTE, SUMERGIENDO LA MEMBRANA RESULTANTE EN UN BAÑO NO DISOLVENTE PARA ELIMINAR CUALQUIER DISOLVENTE RESIDUAL; COLOCANDO LA MEMBRANA EN UNA SOLUCION ACIDA, LLENANDOSE LOS POROS CON LA SOLUCION ACIDA Y SECANDO LA MEMBRANA PARA ELIMINAR EL RESIDUO NO DISOLVENTE, LO QUE PRODUCE EL COLAPSO DE LA ESTRUCTURA POROSA Y EL APRISIONAMIENTO DEL ACIDO, CON FORMACION DE UNA PELICULA DENSA. SEGUN UN PROCEDIMIENTO ALTERNATIVO, SE COAGULA DIRECTAMENTE LA SOLUCION POLIMERICA EN UNA MEZCLA DE ACIDO/DISOLVENTE/NO DISOLVENTE, PARA PRODUCIR UNA MEMBRANA POROSA QUE SE IMIBIBE CON LA SOLUCION ACIDA SEGUIDA DEL SECADO.
