EL PROCEDIMIENTO INCLUYE LAS SIGUIENTES ETAPAS: EN PRIMER LUGAR, CREACION DE UNA MEZCLA QUE COMPRENDE EL METAL BAJO UNA FORMA DE PARTICULA Y LAS PARTICULAS ABRASIVAS Y, EN SEGUNDO LUGAR, PRENSADO EN FRIO DE DICHA MEZCLA, LO QUE PERMITE LA OBTENCION DE LA FORMA FINAL DESEADA EN UN MARGEN DE PRESION COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 320 Y 1.500 MPA; SE OBTIENE UN PRODUCTO PRENSADO EN FRIO EN UN MARGEN DE TEMPERATURA DE 900 A 1.300 GRADOS CENTIGRADOS, EN UNAS CONDICIONES QUE INHIBEN LA DEGRADACION DE LAS PARTICULAS ABRASIVAS Y DEL METAL DE PARTICULA. DESPUES DE LA SINTERIZACION LIBRE, EL PRODUCTO TIENE, EN GENERAL, UNA POROSIDAD RELATIVAMENTE ALTA, POR EJEMPLO UNA POROSIDAD DE 10 A 25% DE VOLUMEN.
