DESPUES SE REALIZA UNA REDUCCION DEL CONTENIDO EN AGUA DEL LODO ACTIVADO LIQUIDO PREFERIBLEMENTE MEDIANTE DRENAJE DEL PRIMER POLDER ASI COMO UNA SIEMBRA DE PLANTAS DE CRECIMIENTO RAPIDO Y RAICES PEQUEÑAS, PREFERIBLEMENTE HIERBA DE PASTO. EN EL PRIMER POLDER REALIZAN LAS PLANTAS UN PERIODO DE CRECIMIENTO, QUE CON ELLO TERMINA EL PRIMER CICLO. SE PUEDEN UTILIZAR VARIOS POLDERES EN PARALELO CON UN DESFASE EN EL TIEMPO. UN CICLO DURA APROXIMADAMENTE 12 MESES.
