UN ENSAYO EXTREMADAMENTE SENSIBLE PARA LA DETECCION TEMPRANA DEL CANCER HUMANO, BASADO EN EL USO DE UN MARCADOR MOLECULAR, DESIGNADO COMO GEN H19, QUE SE UTILIZA PARA LA HIBRIDACION IN SITU DE UNA MUESTRA DE TEJIDO, Y PARA INDICAR LA PRESENCIA O AUSENCIA DE UNA MALIGNIDAD Y SU TIPO, MEDIANTE UN MARCADOR ADECUADO. LA SONDA SE PUEDE FORMAR A PARTIR DEL GEN H19, SUBCLONANDO EN UN LUGAR ADECUADO DE UN PLASMIDO, PRODUCIENDO RNA ANTISENTIDO POR TRANCRIPCION CON UNA POLIMERASA, Y ETIQUETANDO LOS FRAGMENTOS ADECUADOS, PARA PRODUCIR, TRAS LA HIBRIDACION, LA SEÑAL ADECUADA. LA ETIQUETA PUEDE SER RADIACTIVA O FLUORESCENTE, O SE PUEDE UTILIZAR UN REACTIVO DE COLOR.
