LA PRESENTE INVENCION ESTA RELACIONADA CON UN PROCESO PARA SEPARAR POLIHIDROXIALCANOATOS (PHA) EN UNA BIOMASA QUE CONTENGA PHA, Y QUE COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES FASES: (A) TRATAMIENTO DE LA BIOMASA CON UN DISOLVENTE DEL PHA Y UN PRODUCTO NO DISOLVENTE MARGINAL DEL PHA; (B) ELIMINACION DE TODA LA BIOMASA INSOLUBLE, LO QUE PERMITE OBTENER UNA SOLUCION DE PHA Y UN PRODUCTO NO DISOLVENTE MARGINAL DEL PHA; Y (C) ELIMINACION DEL DISOLVENTE DEL PHA EN LA DISOLUCION, LO QUE PERMITE OBTENER UNA SUSPENSION DE PHA PRECIPITADO EN EL PRODUCTO NO DISOLVENTE MARGINAL DEL PHA. OPCIONALMENTE, EL PROCESO INCLUYE ADEMAS LA ELIMINACION DEL PRODUCTO NO DISOLVENTE MARGINAL DEL PHA, LO QUE PERMITE OBTENER UNICAMENTE PHA.
