SE DESCRIBE UNA PLANTA DEPURADORA CON OPTIMIZACION DE ENERGIA, QUE EN LA DIRECCION DE FLUJO DE LAS AGUAS RESIDUALES PRESENTA UNA ETAPA DE DECANTACION PREVIA, UN REACTOR DE LECHO SOLIDO ANAEROBICO, UNA ETAPA DESNITRIFICANTE Y UNA ETAPA DE PURIFICACION AEROBICA. AL PRESCINDIR DE UN SISTEMA DE LODO ACTIVADO CONVENCIONAL NO TIENE LUGAR LA DEGRADACION AEROBICA DEL AGUA RESIDUAL, QUE REQUIERE MUCHA ENERGIA, SINO UNA DEGRADACION PARCIAL ANAEROBICA, CON MENOS CONSUMO DE ENERGIA, DE LA MISMA. LA DEGRADACION PREVIA DE LOS COMPUESTOS DE CARBONO QUE TIENE LUGAR PERMITE REDUCIR NOTABLEMENTE EL TAMAÑO DE LAS ETAPAS SIGUIENTES. SE GENERA SOLAMENTE UNA PEQUEÑA CANTIDAD DE LODO RESIDUAL Y LAS NECESIDADES DE ENERGIA PUEDEN REDUCIRSE CONSIDERABLEMENTE.
