Abstract

La invención se refiere a un artículo absorbente sanitario y a una de sus capas componentes, que pueden ser producidas con menos material de deshecho. La invención se extiende, también, a un procedimiento y a un aparato para fabricar el artículo absorbente sanitario y la capa componente. El procedimiento está caracterizado por la etapa de cortar una banda continua de material, para formar un par de artículos absorbentes sanitarios, incluyendo cada artículo un par de alas que sobresalen lateralmente. El contorno de cada artículo se selecciona de manera que las alas puedan ajustar una cerca de la otra, con las alas de dos artículos adyacentes contactando una con la otra por sus lados, en lugar de por las extremidades laterales. Esta disposición permite que los cuerpos principales de los artículos sanitarios se acerquen uno al otro, reduciendo así el desecho entre los artículos.
