Abstract

Procedimiento para la obtención de hierro mediante la reducción directa de mineral de hierro con carbón en un reactor (10) de reducción sin gas reductor adicional, es decir, sin gas reductor no obtenido en el reactor (10) de reducción a partir del carbón, gasificándose para convertirse en gas reductor el carbón en el reactor (10) con el ácido carbónico, producido en la reducción, y quemándose el gas reductor, producido en exceso, en una zona (17 ó 18) de combustión separada de la zona de reducción del reactor (10), reconduciéndose el calor así producido a través de un intercambiador (15 ó 16) de calor al gas existente en la cámara de reducción del reactor (10) para cubrir la demanda entálpica de la reacción que se produce en esta cámara, caracterizado porque el gas de la cámara de reducción se hace circular de manera forzada (ventilador 14) hacia la cámara de reducción a través del intercambiador (15, 16) de calor, configurado como intercambiador de calor para altas temperaturas, para el mejoramiento de la transmisión del calor al mineral de hierro y al carbón.
