Abstract

Dentro de un proceso para la producción de etileno a partir de un gas de carga, que contiene el hidrógeno, el metano, el etileno y otros C2 así como unos hidrocarburos más pesados y comprendiendo este proceso un desmetanizador de baja presión, que trabaja a una presión por debajo de 2, 41 Mpa (350 libras por pulgada cuadrada) y dentro del cual el referido gas de carga es refrigerado por un sistema de refrigeración, un procedimiento para el enfriamiento del mencionado gas de carga mediante el empleo de un refrigerante binario dentro del referido sistema de refrigeración comprende las fases de: Comprimir una mezcla de metano y de etileno ó de metano y de etano para producir un refrigerante binario; de expansionar y de enfriar progresivamente el mencionado refrigerante binario a través de una serie de intercambiadores térmicos; de poner progresivamente el referido refrigerante binario progresivamente enfriado y el mencionado gas de carga dentro de los referidos intercambiadores térmicos en uncontacto de intercambio térmico entre si para enfriarlos y de este modo separar el mencionado hidrógeno y una parte del referido metano y producir unas corrientes líquidas de alimentación para el desmetanizador, las cuales están concentradas en el mencionado etileno y en otros C2 así como en unos hidrocarburos más pesados; de conducir las referidas corrientes líquidas de alimentación para el desmetanizador hacia el mencionado desmetanizador de baja presión; de producir una corriente bruta de la parte superior del desmetanizador, la cual consiste esencialmente en el metano; de poner la referida corriente bruta de la parte superior del desmetanizador en contacto con el mencionado refrigerante binario progresivamente enfriado; de separar entre si una corriente de reflujo del desmetanizador y una corriente neta de la parte superior del desmetanizador; como asimismo consiste este procedimiento en la fase de hacer retornar la referida corriente de reflujo del desmetanizador al mencionado desmetanizador.
