Abstract

Un procedimiento para preparar una sal estable, no higroscópica, de L(-)carnitina, seleccionada entre el grupo constituido por L(+)tartrato de L(-)carnitina (2:1) y fumarato ácido de L(-)carnitina (1:1), que comprende: (a) mezclar a temperatura ambiente la sal interna de L(-) carnitina con la mínima cantidad de agua necesaria para obtener una suspensión de consistencia pastosa o semilíquida; (b) añadir a la suspensión a temperatura ambiente una cantidad equimolar de ácido fumárico respecto a la sal interna de L(-)carnitina, o la mitad de la cantidad molar de ácido L(+)tartárico, y mezclar íntimamente la mezcla de reacción resultante; (c) efectuar la solidificación/deshidratación de la mezcla de reacción dejando en reposo la mezcla de reacción al aire libre a una humedad relativo no superior a 50%, o acelerando la solidificación/deshidratación de la mezcla mediante medios de secado; y (d) opcionalmente, moler la mezcla de reacción solidificada para obtener la sal como producto granulado o en polvo.A procedure for preparing a stable, non-hygroscopic salt of L (-) carnitine, selected from the group consisting of L (+) tartrate of L (-) carnitine (2: 1) and acid fumarate of L (-) carnitine ( 1: 1), comprising: (a) mixing at room temperature the internal salt of L (-) carnitine with the minimum amount of water necessary to obtain a suspension of pasty or semi-liquid consistency; (b) add to the suspension at room temperature an equimolar amount of fumaric acid with respect to the internal salt of L (-) carnitine, or half of the molar amount of L (+) tartaric acid, and intimately mix the reaction mixture resulting; (c) effect solidification / dehydration of the reaction mixture by resting the reaction mixture in the open air at a relative humidity not exceeding 50%, or by accelerating the solidification / dehydration of the mixture by means of drying means; and (d) optionally, grind the solidified reaction mixture to obtain the salt as a granulated or powdered product.
