Abstract

Un procedimiento para la extracción de licopeno, a partir de un producto tomado de entre el grupo consistente en tomate, pomaza de tomate, pomelo rojo, melón de agua o sandía, guayava y papaya, en donde, el citado procedimiento, comprende las siguientes etapas: - eliminar las impurezas y agua del producto, sometiendo el producto en cuestión a por lo menos un lavado con etanol hirviendo, teniendo, el citado etanol, un contenido en agua comprendido dentro de unos márgenes que van de un 20 a un 30%. - extraer el producto purificado sometiendo el citado producto a por lo menos una extracción con etanol hirviendo, que tenga un contenido de alcohol de por lo menos un 92%. - recuperar la solución de etanol y enfriar la citada solución a una temperatura de aproximadamente la temperatura ambiente, para obtener cristales de licopeno y, - filtrar la citada solución para recuperar los cristales de licopeno.
