Abstract
Se presenta un agente de boración para producir capas de boruro de hierro de fase simple sobre piezas de metal. Se presenta un nuevo agente de boración que incluye un activador de fluoroborato de potasio que contiene fluoruro de calcio. Un agente de boración de metales comprende, a parte de una fuente de boro y de un diluyente refractario inerte, entre un 1 y un 5% en peso de fluoroborato de potasio y entre un 5 y un 40% en peso de fluoruro de calcio como activador. También se incluye una reivindicación independiente para la producción de capas de boruro que contienen Fe{sub,2}B sobre piezas de metales ferrosos cubriendo la superficie de las piezas con el agente de boración mencionado y efectuando un tratamiento mediante calor entre 800 y 1100º C. Características preferidas: el agente de boración comprende (en porcentajes de peso) entre un 3 y un 5% (especialmente un 4%) de carburo de boro, entre un 2 y un 4% (especialmente un 2,5%) de fluoroborato de potasio, entre un 10 y un 30% (especialmente un 25%) de fluoruro de calcio y entre un 61 y un 85% (especialmente un 68,5%) de carburo de silicio.
