Abstract

Se describen nuevas gomas base para chicle que comprenden: (a) copolímeros fotodegradables elastoméricos que contienen monómeros de alquileno y monóxido de carbono o (b) aditivos catalizadores de la fotodegradación seleccionados entre las sales orgánicas o inorgánicas de cobalto, cerio, manganeso y hierro o (c) mezclas de los dos componentes anteriores, junto con otros componentes convencionales de las gomas base para chicle. Dichas gomas base permiten obtener chicles con excelentes cualidades desde el punto de vista de su estabilidad y masticación y que, una vez desechados por el usuario, se degradan con facilidad en presencia de la luz, lo que permite su fácil eliminación al cabo de poco tiempo, bien mediante la acción de los agentes naturales, por ejemplo la lluvia y el roce mecánico, bien mediante una acción de limpieza voluntaria.
