Abstract
Se produce etilbenceno por alquilación sobre una carga repartida de catalizadores de alquilación de silicalita monoclínica que tienen direrentes relaciones sílice/alúmina. Se aplica una carga que contiene benceno y etileno a una zona de reacción de alquilación multietapa que tiene una pluralidad de lechos catalíticos conectados en serie. Al menos un lecho catalítico contiene una primera silicalita monoclínica que tiene una relación sílice/alúmina de al menos 275. Al menos otro lecho catalítico que contiene un segundo catalizador de silicalita monoclínica que tiene una relación sílice/alúmina menor de aproximadamente 275. La zona de reacción de alquilación funciona en unas condiciones de presión y temperatura en las que el benceno está en fase gaseosa, para provocar la alquilación en fase gaseosa del sustrato aromático en presencia de los catalizadores de silicalita monoclínica para producir un producto de alquilación. El producto de alquilación se extrae posteriormente de la zona de reacción para su separación y recuperación. La utilización de la carga repartida del catalizador permite una mayor pureza del etilbenceno producto, que se puede producir con una eficacia mejorada que si sólo se utilizara uno de los catalizadores.
