Abstract
Un cable de fibra óptica que presenta una alta resistencia a la degradación, y que incluye al menos una fibra óptica (6) y una vaina exterior extruida de doble capa, basada en polímeros (4), que comprende una primera capa interna de polímeros (4a), esencialmente sin resistencia a la degradación, y una segunda capa externa de polímeros (4b) que presenta características de alta resistencia a la degradación, obtenibles, preferiblemente, añadiendo una cantidad prefijada de un óxido inorgánico, preferiblemente, en forma hidrada o de hidróxido, a la matriz de polímeros. De esta manera es posible producir un cable de fibra óptica que tiene alta resistencia a la degradación, que es ligero, tiene una alta fortaleza mecánica, y es particularmente adecuado para su instalación en líneas suspendidas de alto voltaje.
