Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de ácidos 4,4-disubstituídos-5-oxohexanoicos y sus derivados, caracterizado por el hecho de que una alfa-arilacetona se convierte en una alfa-aril-alfa-aralcohilacetona por alcohilación, el producto así formado se convierte en el correspondiente 4-aril-4aralcohil-5-oxohexanonitrilo por cianoetilación, luego el nitrilo se hidroliza a ácido 4-aril-4-aralcohil-5-oxohexanoico y, si se desea, el ácido se convierte en una sal, éster, amida o enol-lactona por los métodos conocidos.
