Abstract
Procedimiento para preparar mezclas de gas que contienen hidrógeno y monóxido de carbono por combustión parcial de un hidrocarburo con oxígeno, suministrándose vapor de agua si se desea, caracterizado porque el hidrocarburo se atomiza de modo que se forme un cono hueco en una cámara de reacción cilíndrica o sustancialmente cilíndrica cuya longitud es menor de cinco veces el diámetro, haciéndose esto centralmente a través de una abertura en una pared extrema de la cámara y siendo introducido el oxígeno a través de una abertura de la misma pared extrema dentro de la cámara de reacción con un movimiento de rotación en torno del eje, todo ello de tal modo que se forma un doble remolino toroidal dentro de la cámara de reacción, que provoca una rápida mezcla de hidrocarburo con los gases y una gran rapidez de reacción, de modo que le tiempo de reacción sea menor de 4 segundos, teniendo lugar la combustión bajo una presión de al menos 3 atm.
