Abstract

Un material poroso de niqueluro de titanio (TiNi) biomecánica y bioquímicamente compatible que comprende: una matriz de TiNi que comprende puntales interconectados, teniendo cada puntal una superficie externa y una zona interna, teniendo la matriz una relación atómica de Ni:Ti que varía desde 0, 96:1 hasta 1, 13:1 y que incluye una concentración máxima del 10% atómico de oxígeno estando el Ni y el Ti en un equilibrio en el que la concentración de Ni está limitada a un 53% atómico máximo; el compuesto precipita entremezclado con la matriz; y una multiplicidad de poros interconectados definida por la matriz, en la que los poros tienen una distribución de tamaño de poro dada de la forma siguiente: (Ver tabla) en la que el material presenta una porosidad abierta que varía desde el 35 hasta el 80% y presentando la matriz propiedades mecánicas adecuadas para la implantación quirúrgica, y en la que la matriz carece de fases secundarias enriquecidas con Ni.
