DESCRIPCIÓN
Artículos recubiertos termotratables de baja emisividad calorífica y procedimientos de realización de los mismos.
[0001] La presente invención se refiere a artículos recubiertos termotratables de baja emisividad calorífica ("low-E"). Dichos artículos recubiertos se pueden utilizar en el campo de los parabrisas de vehículos, de las unidades de vidrio aislante (IG) y en otras aplicaciones adecuadas. 5
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN
[0002] Los recubrimientos de capas destinados al tratamiento de la luz solar resultan conocidos en la técnica. Dichos recubrimientos a menudo pretenden reflejar las radiaciones infrarrojas (IR) al mismo tiempo que permiten un factor de transmisión de la luz visible elevado. En la industria automovilística, por ejemplo, los parabrisas de los vehículos presentan a menudo un factor de transmisión de la luz visible de al menos un 70 % 10 en los Estados Unidos y de al menos un 75 % en Europa, incluso cuando se lamina con una capa de polivinilbutiral (PVB) dispuesta entre los sustratos de vidrio opuestos. Dicha necesidad de un factor de transmisión de la luz visible elevado entra en conflicto con la necesidad de una buena reflexión de IR y resulta difícil obtener ambas simultáneamente. Al realizar los modelos de recubrimiento de baja emisividad calorífica más complejos resulta la necesidad de realización de un recubrimiento duradero mecánicamente y/o 15 químicamente, así como la necesidad de un recubrimiento con una reflectancia visible baja (lado de cristal) que no experimente un cambio radical de color cuando se observa desde distintos ángulos de visión. Se pretende asimismo que dichos recubrimientos resulten termotratables, de modo que se puedan utilizar en parabrisas de automóviles en los que se requiere flexión térmica, unidades de IG templado y similares.
[0003] La patente estadounidense nº 5.584-4.902 (de propiedad conjunta con la presente) da a conocer un 20 sistema de recubrimiento de baja emisividad calorífica que comprende, desde el sustrato de vidrio hacia el exterior, un apilamiento de Si3N4/NiCr/Ag/NiCr/Si3N4. Desafortunadamente, aunque este recubrimiento sea termotratable y presente una baja emisividad calorífica natural, está caracterizado porque unos valores bastante elevados de emisividad y/o resistencia laminar lo que produce unos valores bastante bajos de Rsolar (reflectancia de la energía solar total) de aproximadamente 22-24 %. Por ejemplo, un recubrimiento descrito en la patente 25 ‘902 presentaba una resistencia laminar (Rs) de 14,4 ohmios/cuadrado y una emisividad normal (En) de 0,15 antes del tratamiento térmico; y una Rs de 10,5 ohmios/cuadrado y una En de 0,11 después del tratamiento térmico.
[0004] EP 0857700 da a conocer un sustrato de vidrio transparente (1) recubierto con una película fina basada en nitruro de silicio o basada en oxinitruro (2) que contiene un 30-60 % atómico (preferentemente 40-50) de Si, 30 un 10-56 % atómico (preferentemente un 20-56) de N, un 1-40 % atómico (preferentemente un 5-30) de O y un 1-40 % atómico (preferentemente un 5-30) de C. También se reivindica un procedimiento de depósito de la película fina anterior (2) mediante la técnica de deposición química por vapor (CDV) a partir de un precursor de silicio (preferentemente un silano y/o silazano) y un precursor de nitrógeno, precursor de nitrógeno que se encuentra en forma de amina, preferentemente una amina alquílica primaria, secundaria o terciaria de C1-6, 35 especialmente etilamina, metilamina, dimetilamina, butilamina o propilamina.
[0005] La patente estadounidense nº 5897372 da a conocer nitruro de silicio rico en silicio que se utiliza como capa protectora en un grabado autoalineable. Se deposita conformemente una capa fina de nitruro de silicio rico en silicio sobre las estructuras elevadas en un sustrato. A continuación se deposita una capa grabable, rellenando el espacio comprendido entre las estructuras elevadas y proporcionando una superficie superior 40 horizontal. A continuación se forma una capa de máscara sobre la capa grabable y se conforma para exponer un área de la capa grabable sobre el espacio comprendido entre las estructuras elevadas. A continuación la capa grabable se graba con un agente de grabado selectivo con nitruro de silicio para eliminar la capa grabable entre las estructuras elevadas. A continuación se rellena el espacio comprendido entre las estructuras elevadas con un material de relleno, formando una estructura autoalineada comprendida por dicho material de relleno y 45 se autoalinea con las estructuras elevadas. La capa fina de nitruro de silicio rico en silicio resiste la grabación de la capa grabable mejor que el nitruro de silicio estequiométrico habitual, proporcionando una mayor selectividad, aumentando la fiabilidad del procedimiento de autoalineación al impedir el grabado a través de las capas protectoras y mejorando de este modo el control del procedimiento y el rendimiento del procedimiento de autoalineación. 50
[0006] La patente estadounidense nº 5.557.462 (de propiedad conjunta con la presente) da a conocer un recubrimiento de plata de baja emisividad calorífica doble que incluye, desde el vidrio hacia el exterior, un apilamiento de:
Si3N4/NiCr/Ag/NiCr/Si3N4/NiCr/Ag/NiCr/Si34N4. El sistema de recubrimiento de la patente ‘462 se caracteriza por tener buenos valores de emisividad y buenos valores de Rsolar. Desafortunadamente, los sistemas de 55 recubrimiento descritos en la patente ‘462 no resultan termotratables (por ejemplo, cuando se realiza el
tratamiento térmico Rs aumenta, tal como desde aproximadamente 3-5 hasta 10 y se presenta una tendencia a la turbidez). Debido a que los recubrimientos descritos en la patente ‘462 no resultan termotratables, desde un punto de vista práctico no se pueden utilizar en aplicaciones tales como los parabrisas de vehículos (en los que se requiere flexión térmica) u otras aplicaciones que requieren un tratamiento térmico (HT) tales como el templado, el refuerzo térmico o la flexión. 5
[0007] Determinados recubrimientos dobles de plata se describen en la parte de los antecedentes de la solicitud mencionada anteriormente. Véase asimismo la patente estadounidense nº 6.060.178. Desafortunadamente, dichos sistemas de recubrimiento presentan una pobre durabilidad antes y/o después del tratamiento térmico.
SUMARIO DE LA INVENCIÓN
[0008] Los objetos mencionados anteriormente se solucionan mediante un artículo de acuerdo con la 10 reivindicación 1.
[0009] Otro objeto de determinadas formas de realización de ejemplo de la presente invención es proporcionar un recubrimiento doble de baja emisividad calorífica de plata que resulte termotratable y que sea duradero mecánica y químicamente.
[0010] Otro objeto de determinadas formas de realización de ejemplo de la presente invención es utilizar una 15 capa de nitruro de silicio en un apilamiento de capas a fin de reducir la turbidez que se experimenta con el tratamiento térmico. Esta capa de nitruro de silicio está enriquecida con Si en formas de realización de acuerdo con la presente invención.
[0011] Otro objeto de determinadas formas de realización de ejemplo de la presente invención es proporcionar un recubrimiento según uno o más de los objetos indicados anteriormente que se pueda utilizar en el campo de 20 una unidad de ventana de IG y/o un parabrisas de un vehículo.

DESCRIPCIÓN DETALLADA DE DETERMINADAS FORMAS DE REALIZACIÓN DE EJEMPLO DE LA INVENCIÓN 40
[0014] A continuación, se hará referencia más particularmente a los dibujos adjuntos en los que las referencias numéricas indican las partes o capas similares desde diversas vistas.
[0015] Determinadas formas de realización de la presente invención proporcionan un sistema de recubrimiento o de capas de baja emisividad calorífica que se puede utilizar en aplicaciones tales como parabrisas de vehículos, otras ventanas de vehículos, tragaluces, puertas de cristal, unidades de IG y similares. Los 45 recubrimientos según determinadas formas de realización de la presente invención presentan preferentemente unas características de baja emisividad calorífica así como un elevado factor de transmisión de luz visible y resultan termotratables. Preferentemente, los recubrimientos de determinadas formas de realización de la presente memoria resultan duraderos mecánicamente antes y/o después del tratamiento térmico (HT) y el HT no provoca un cambio significativo en la resistencia laminar (Rs) y/o en la turbidez. Tal como se conoce en la 50 técnica, dicho HT a menudo requiere calentar el sustrato recubierto a temperaturas comprendidas entre 1.100 ºF (593 ºC) y 1.450 ºF (788 ºC) durante un período de tiempo suficiente para alcanzar el resultado pretendido (por
ejemplo, el templado, la flexión y/o el refuerzo térmico).
[0016] La Figura 1 es una vista en sección transversal lateral de un artículo recubierto. El artículo recubierto incluye el sustrato 1 (por ejemplo, un sustrato de vidrio transparente, de color verde, de color bronce o de color azul verdoso con un espesor comprendido entre aproximadamente 1,0 mm y 10,0 mm, más preferentemente entre aproximadamente 1,8 mm y 4 mm de espesor), una primera capa dieléctrica antirreflectante 3, una 5 segunda capa dieléctrica reductora de la turbidez 5, una primera capa de contacto 7 (que está en contacto con la capa 9), una primera capa metálica conductora reflectante de infrarrojos (IR) 9, una primera capa de contacto superior 11 (que está en contacto con la capa 9), una tercera capa dieléctrica 13 (que se puede depositar en una o en una pluralidad de etapas en diferentes formas de realización de la presente invención), una cuarta capa dieléctrica 15, una segunda capa de contacto inferior 17 (que está en contacto con la capa 19), una 10 segunda capa metálica conductora reflectante de infrarrojos (IR) 19, una segunda capa de contacto superior 21 (que está en contacto con la capa 19), una quinta capa dieléctrica 23 y, finalmente, una sexta capa dieléctrica protectora 25. Cada una de las capas "de contacto" está en contacto al menos con una capa reflectante de IR. Las capas 3-25 mencionadas anteriormente constituyen un recubrimiento termotratable "low-E" (es decir, de baja emisividad calorífica) 27 que se proporciona sobre un sustrato de plástico o vidrio 1. 15
[0017] En determinados artículos recubiertos, la primera capa dieléctrica 3 puede estar constituida por o incluir dióxido de titanio (TiOx en el que x se encuentra comprendido entre 1,7 y 2,3, más preferentemente es 2,0), nitruro de silicio (SixNy en el que x/y puede ser aproximadamente 0,75 (es decir, Si3N4) o alternativamente x/y se puede encontrar comprendida entre aproximadamente 0,76 y 1,5 en las formas de realización ricas en Si), dióxido de silicio (SiOx en el que x se encuentra comprendido entre 1,7 y 2,3, más preferentemente es 20 aproximadamente 2,0), óxido de niobio (por ejemplo, NB2O5), SiZrN, óxido de estaño, óxido de cinc, oxinitruro de silicio u otros materiales dieléctricos aptos. La primera capa dieléctrica 3 actúa de capa antirreflectante en determinados artículos recubiertos.
[0018] La segunda capa dieléctrica 5 puede actuar reduciendo la turbidez y en formas de realización inventivas es nitruro de silicio rico en Si SixNy en el que x/y se encuentra comprendida entre 0,85 y 1,2. Cuando se realiza 25 la deposición catódica de la(s) capa(s) de nitruro de silicio descrita(s) en la presente memoria, se puede utilizar un anticátodo de Si o alternativamente se puede utilizar un anticátodo que comprenda Si mezclado con hasta un 3-20% en peso de aluminio y/o de acero inoxidable (por ejemplo SS nº 316), apareciendo aproximadamente dicha cantidad de aluminio y/o de acero en la(s) capa(s) realizada(s) de este modo.
[0019] Se ha descubierto que el tipo de nitruro de silicio rico en silicio como capa 5 es mejor para reducir la 30 turbidez y/o mejorar la durabilidad mecánica de determinados artículos recubiertos. Si esta capa 5 (y/o 15) no se encuentra presente, la turbidez tiende a ser por lo menos de 0,45; mientras que con dicha(s) capa(s) se reduce hasta un valor no superior al 0,4 tal como se expone en la presente memoria. En las formas de realización con nitruro de silicio rico en Si, la capa 5 (y/o la capa 15) está constituida por SixNy en el que x/y se encuentra comprendida entre aproximadamente 0,85 y 1,2. Si3N4 presenta un índice de refracción “n” de aproximadamente 35 2,04 y un coeficiente de extinción "k" de aproximadamente 0. Sin embargo, el nitruro de silicio rico en Si según determinadas formas de realización de la presente invención puede presentar un índice de refracción de por lo menos aproximadamente 2,05, más preferentemente de por lo menos aproximadamente 2,07 y puede ser de 2,08 (a 632 nm) en las formas de realización a título de ejemplo. Asimismo, el nitruro de silicio rico en Si según determinadas formas de realización de la presente invención puede presentar un coeficiente de extinción "k" de 40 por lo menos aproximadamente 0,001, y más preferentemente de por lo menos aproximadamente 0,003. En un primer ejemplo monolítico después del HT de una capa de nitruro rico en Si 5 (y/o 15) "n" era 2,099 y "k" era 0,0034; mientras que en un segundo ejemplo monolítico después del HT "n" era 2,168 y "k" era 0,014. El nitruro de silicio rico en Si, además de resultar mejor en la reducción de la turbidez que Si3N4, se ha descubierto que también se adhiere mejor al óxido de titanio de la capa 3 de las formas de realización a título de ejemplo. 45 Sorprendentemente, se ha descubierto asimismo que el nitruro de silicio rico en Si bajo las capas de NiCrOx y de Ag de las Figuras 1, 5 y 6 proporciona una resistencia laminar (Rs) inferior.
[0020] Las capas reflectantes de infrarrojos (IR) 9 y 19 son preferentemente metálicas y conductoras y pueden estar realizadas o incluir plata (Ag), oro o cualquier otro material reflectante de IR. Sin embargo, Ag metálica es el material preferido para las capas reflectantes de IR 9 y 19 en determinadas formas de realización de la 50 presente invención a título de ejemplo. Dichas capas reflectantes de IR contribuyen a permitir que el recubrimiento 27 presente unas características de baja emisividad calorífica.
[0021] Las capas de contacto 7, 11, 17 y 21 están constituidas por o incluyen óxido de níquel (Ni) o un óxido de una aleación de níquel tal como el óxido de cromo y níquel (NiCrOx), en las formas de realización preferidas de la presente invención. Las capas de NiCrOx 7, 11, 17 y/o 21 se pueden encontrar completamente oxidadas en 55 determinados artículos recubiertos (es decir, completamente estequiométricos) o se pueden encontrar oxidadas por lo menos aproximadamente un 75% en otros artículos recubiertos. A pesar de que el NiCrOx es un material preferido para las capas 7, 11, 17 y/o 21, los expertos en la materia podrán reconocer que se pueden utilizar en su lugar otros materiales (por ejemplo, óxidos de Ni, óxidos de aleaciones de Ni, óxidos de Cr, óxidos de aleaciones de Cr, NiCrOxNy o cualquier otro material apto) en una o más de dichas capas. Se ha de señalar que 60
las capas 7, 11, 17 y/o 21 pueden ser continuas o no serlo en los distintos artículos recubiertos.
[0022] Cuando las capas 7, 11, 17 y/o 21 comprenden NiCrOx en determinadas formas de realización, el Ni y el Cr se pueden proporcionar en cantidades distintas, como en forma de nicromo con aproximadamente un 80-90% de Ni y un 10-20 % de Cr en peso. Un anticátodo a título de ejemplo en la deposición catódica para depositar dichas capas comprende no solo el SS-316, que consiste esencialmente en un 10 % de Ni y un 90 % 5 de otros ingredientes, principalmente Fe y Cr, sino también la aleación de Haynes 214, que en peso consiste esencialmente (como composición nominal) en los siguientes materiales que se pueden presentar también en dichas capas:

[0023] Una o más de las capas de contacto 7, 11, 17 y/o 21 (por ejemplo, constituidas por NiCrOx o que lo incluyen) se encuentra(n) preferentemente graduada(s) por oxidación en determinados artículos recubiertos de 10 modo que el grado de oxidación de la(s) capa(s) varía a lo largo del espesor de dicha(s) capa(s). Por ejemplo, una o más de las capas de contacto (7, 11, 17 y/o 21) se pueden graduar de modo que se encuentren menos oxidadas en la interfaz de contacto con la capa reflectante de IR inmediatamente adyacente (9 o 19) que en la zona de la(s) capa(s) de contacto más alejadas o que se encuentran a la máxima distancia de la capa reflectante de IR inmediatamente adyacente. Se considera que la graduación de la oxidación de una o más de 15 la(s) capa(s) de contacto 7, 11, 17 y/o 31 permite que el recubrimiento de baja emisividad calorífica 27 alcance la combinación de termotratabilidad y transmisión de luz visible (que no resultaba anteriormente alcanzable utilizando capas de contacto de NiCrOx en un sistema de recubrimiento doble de plata de baja emisividad calorífica; por ejemplo, véase la patente '462 mencionada anteriormente). Esto se explicará más detalladamente a continuación haciendo referencia a las Figuras 3(a) y 3(b). 20
[0024] Haciendo referencia de nuevo a la Figura 1, la tercera capa dieléctrica 13 actúa como capa de acoplamiento entre las dos mitades del recubrimiento 27, y está constituida por o incluye óxido de estaño en determinados artículos recubiertos. Sin embargo, se pueden utilizar en su lugar otros materiales dieléctricos en la capa 13, comprendiendo, pero sin limitarse a los mismos, nitruro de silicio, dióxido de titanio, óxido de niobio, oxinitruro de silicio, óxido de cinc o similares. La cuarta capa dieléctrica 15 actúa como reductora de la turbidez 25 en determinados artículos recubiertos y preferentemente está constituida por o incluye nitruro de silicio (por ejemplo, Si3N4 o alternativamente nitruro de silicio rico en silicio tal como se ha expuesto anteriormente). Sin embargo, como alternativa se pueden utilizar en su lugar otros materiales (por ejemplo, SiZrN) en la capa dieléctrica 15.
[0025] La quinta capa dieléctrica 23 puede estar constituida por o incluir óxido de estaño en determinados 30 artículos recubiertos. Sin embargo, se pueden utilizar en su lugar otros materiales dieléctricos en la capa 23, comprendiendo, pero sin limitarse a los mismos, nitruro de silicio, dióxido de titanio, óxido de niobio, oxinitruro de silicio, óxido de cinc o similares. La capa dieléctrica protectora exterior 25 se proporciona por lo menos con un propósito de durabilidad y puede estar constituida por nitruro de silicio (por ejemplo, Si3N4) o incluirlo en determinadas formas de realización de la presente invención. Sin embargo, se pueden utilizar en su lugar otros 35 materiales dieléctricos en la capa 25, comprendiendo, pero sin limitarse a los mismos, dióxido de titanio, oxinitruro de silicio, óxido de estaño, óxido de cinc, óxido de niobio, SiZrN o similares.
[0026] Se puede(n) proporcionar otra(s) capa(s) que se encuentra(n) por debajo o por encima del recubrimiento ilustrado 27. el interior del sustrato 31 y la cuarta superficie 41 se encuentra en el interior del vehículo. Los recubrimientos 27 descritos en la presente memoria se disponen preferentemente tanto sobre la segunda 37 como sobre la tercera 39 superficie de dichas estructuras laminares (lo que también resulta exacto en relación con las unidades de IG).

[0029] La Figura 6 ilustra un recubrimiento termotratable de baja emisividad calorífica 27. El recubrimiento 27 de la Figura 6 es el mismo recubrimiento de la Figura 1 descrito anteriormente, con la excepción de que (i) se ha eliminado la capa dieléctrica 3 o (ii) las capas 3 y 5 se han sustituido con una capa simple de nitruro de silicio 40. La capa de nitruro de silicio 40 puede estar constituida por o incluir Si3N4 en determinados artículos recubiertos. En otras formas de realización, la capa de nitruro de silicio 40 puede estar constituida por o incluir 15 SixNy en la que x/y se puede encontrar comprendida entre aproximadamente 0,65 y 0,80 o alternativamente entre aproximadamente 0,76 y 1,5 en las formas de realización ricas en silicio. En otra forma de realización de la forma de realización particular de la Figura 6, la capa 40 puede estar constituida por o incluir SiZrN. La capa de nitruro 40 resulta ventajosa debido a que reduce la turbidez y presenta preferentemente un espesor comprendido entre aproximadamente 10 Å y 500 Å, más preferentemente entre aproximadamente 200 Å-400 Å 20 de espesor. En dicha forma de realización, la capa reflectante de IR superior 19 puede presentar un espesor comprendido entre aproximadamente 0 Å y 10 Å, y/o la capa dieléctrica superior 25 puede presentar un espesor comprendido entre aproximadamente el 0-10%. En otro aspecto de la forma de realización de la Figura 6, se puede utilizar nitruro de silicio en la capa 40 pero de un modo en que la parte inferior de la capa puede estar constituida por o incluir Si3N4, mientras que la parte superior es de nitruro de silicio del tipo rico en silicio descrito 25 anteriormente. Del mismo modo que con todas las formas de realización descritas en la presente memoria, el nitruro de silicio rico en Si ha mejorado el rendimiento al reducir la turbidez en comparación con Si3N4. La forma de realización de la Figura 6 tiende a presentar un factor de transmisión de la luz visible reducido (pero todavía por lo menos del 70%) en relación con la forma de realización de la Figura 1, pero puede resultar más duradero en determinadas circunstancias y la Rsolar puede ser superior a la de la forma de realización de la Figura 1 que, 30 por supuesto, resulta beneficioso.

[0031] Los recubrimientos 27 (por ejemplo, las Figuras 1-6) presentan las siguientes características del color, transmisión, reflectancia y turbidez (por ejemplo, se puede observar en la parte inferior un color grisáceo preferido) cuando se disponen sobre un sustrato de vidrio transparente de sílice sodocálcica (por ejemplo, de 2,1 mm de espesor) en forma laminada con otro sustrato de vidrio transparente de sílice sodocálcica similar (por ejemplo, en forma de parabrisas de un vehículo con PVB o aceite de índice entre ambos sustratos), tal y como 5 se muestra en la Figura 2 (es decir, en la superficie nº 2 de la estructura laminar), tal como se ilustra en la Tabla 3. En la Tabla 3 a continuación, RgY es la reflectancia de la luz visible desde el exterior del vehículo tal como se ilustra en la Figura 2 y RfY es la reflectancia de la luz visible desde la otra cara de la estructura laminar tal como el interior del vehículo de la Figura 2, y los valores a* y b* bajo dichos parámetros respectivos de reflectancia corresponden al lado del vidrio (g) (por ejemplo, el exterior del vehículo de la Figura 2) y el lado de la película (f) 10 (por ejemplo, el interior del vehículo de la Figura 2), respectivamente.

Sorprendentemente, se ha descubierto que el conjunto de capas superpuestas según determinados artículos recubiertos se caracteriza por unos cambios en el color visible bastante reducidos debido al cambio del ángulo de visión (AV) cuando se observa desde el lado del vidrio del artículo (por ejemplo, desde el exterior del vehículo 15 en la Figura 2). Por ejemplo, la Tabla 4 a continuación ilustra los bajos valores de Δa*g asociados a los artículos laminados recubiertos cuando se observan desde un ángulo de visión normal (es decir, recto) en comparación con un ángulo de visión de 60º fuera del eje. Dicho con otras palabras, la Tabla 4 a continuación ilustra que Δa*g se puede mantener bastante bajo incluso dado un desplazamiento del ángulo de visión (AV) de 60º de modo que los artículos recubiertos no dan a simple vista la impresión de cambiar de color cuando se observan desde 20 ángulos distintos. Se ha de señalar que los valores de Δb* no se consideran tan importantes como los valores de Δa* debido a que los cambios de a* resultan habitualmente más perceptibles a simple vista que los cambios de b* correspondientes. En determinadas formas de realización a título de ejemplo, a*g se encuentra comprendido entre -2,0 y +2,0, tanto antes como después del desplazamiento en el ángulo de visión de 60º (AV), de modo que a*g permanece proximal al eje b* (es decir, el eje b* es azul(-)/amarillo(+) vertical, mientras 25 que el eje a* es verde(-)/rojo(+) horizontal) a pesar de dicho cambio radical en el ángulo de visión minimizando, por lo tanto, la aparición del cambio de color.

[0032] Se ha comentado anteriormente que el sistema de recubrimiento doble de plata de baja emisividad 30 calorífica de la patente US nº 5.557.462 (es decir, vidrio/Si3N4/NiCr/Ag/NiCr/Si3N4/NiCr/Ag/NiCr/Si3N4) no es termotratable por lo menos debido a que durante el tratamiento térmico Rs aumenta, por ejemplo desde aproximadamente 3-5 hasta superar 10, y tiende a aparecer turbidez. Se cree actualmente que si se aumenta significativamente el espesor de las capas de NiCr de la patente ’462 pretendiendo alcanzar la termotratabilidad, desafortunadamente disminuirá el factor de transmisión de la luz visible muy por debajo del 70% lo que haría 35 obviamente que los artículos recubiertos no se pudieran utilizar en las aplicaciones de parabrisas.
[0033] Sin embargo, se ha descubierto sorprendentemente que mediante la graduación por oxidación de una o más de las capas de contacto no cristalinas 7, 11, 17 y/o 21, el artículo recubierto resultante puede conservar un
factor de transmisión de la luz visible elevado, características de baja emisividad calorífica, entre las que se incluyen baja Rs, y buena durabilidad con el tratamiento térmico (por ejemplo, templado, flexión térmica, etc.). En este sentido se hace referencia a las Figuras 3(a) y 3(b).
[0034] Tal como se ilustra en la Figura 3(a), ambas capas de contacto 7 y 11 (y/o 17 y 21) en cada uno de los lados de la capa reflectante de IR aplicable 9 (y/o 19) se gradúan por oxidación de modo que se encuentren 5 menos oxidadas (incluyendo que no se encuentren oxidadas en absoluto en algunas formas de realización opcionales) en la interfaz de la capa reflectante de IR (por ejemplo, Ag). Dicho con otras palabras, las dos capas de contacto de cada uno de los lados de la capa de Ag 9 se encuentran progresivamente menos oxidadas a lo largo de sus respectivos espesores a medida que se acercan a la capa de Ag 9. Por consiguiente, las partes (por ejemplo, partes con un espesor de 5 Å) de las capas 7 y 11 (o 17 y 21) más cercanas a la capa 9 (o 19) se 10 encuentran oxidadas aproximadamente entre el 0 y el 40 %, más preferentemente oxidadas aproximadamente entre el 0 y el 20 %, y lo más preferentemente oxidadas aproximadamente entre el 0 y el 10 %. Al mismo tiempo, las partes (por ejemplo, partes con un espesor de 5 Å) de las capas 7 y 11 (o 17 y 21) más alejadas de la capa 9 (o 19) se encuentran oxidadas por lo menos aproximadamente un 50 %, más preferentemente oxidadas por lo menos aproximadamente un 60 %, incluso más preferentemente oxidadas por lo menos aproximadamente un 15 75%, y aún más preferentemente oxidadas por lo menos aproximadamente un 85 %.
[0035] De este modo, las capas de contacto se encuentran progresivamente menos oxidadas a lo largo de sus espesores respectivos a medida que se acercan a la capa reflectante de IR 9, 19. En determinadas formas de realización, esto provoca que las capas de contacto 7 y 11 (o 17 y 21) sean conductoras o por lo menos semiconductoras en la interfaz con la capa reflectante de IR 9 (o 19), y sustancialmente no conductoras en las 20 otras partes de las capas 7 y 11 (o 17 y 21) tales como la parte con un espesor de 5 Å más alejada de la capa 9 (o 19). Por lo tanto, cuando las capas de contacto están constituidas por o incluyen NiCrOx graduado, el valor x disminuye progresivamente a lo largo del grosor de la capa hacia la capa reflectante de IR 9, 19. Dicho valor x puede incluso aproximarse o equivaler a cero cerca de la capa reflectante de IR inmediatamente adyacente en determinados casos. 25
[0036] Se considera que las partes menos oxidadas de las capas de contacto 7 y 11 (y/o 17 y 21) cerca de la interfaz de la capa reflectante de IR 9 (o 19) permiten que el recubrimiento 27 resista el tratamiento térmico (HT) y proporcione buena adherencia a la capa 9, 19. Sin embargo, estas partes menos (o nada) oxidadas de las capas de contacto resultan asimismo menos transparentes a la luz visible que las partes más oxidadas de las capas de contacto. De este modo, con la graduación por oxidación: (a) las partes muy oxidadas de las capas de 30 contacto graduadas 7 y 11 (y/o 17 y 21) resultan más transparentes a la luz visible y permiten que el recubrimiento 27 conserve sus características de transmisión de luz visible, al mismo tiempo que (b) las partes menos oxidadas de las capas de contacto graduadas soportan mejor la(s) capa(s) reflectante(s) de IR 9, 19 durante el HT y proporcionan una buena adherencia a las mismas, y permiten que el recubrimiento resista las mismas. 35
[0037] La forma de realización de la Figura 3(b) es similar a la de la Figura 3(a), con la excepción de que únicamente una de las capas de contacto que entra en contacto con la capa reflectante de IR se encuentra graduada. En la presente forma de realización específica, la(s) capa(s) de contacto superior(es) 11, 21 se encuentra(n) graduada(s) por oxidación tal como se ha descrito anteriormente, mientras que la inferior no lo está y se encuentra sustancialmente oxidada, u oxidada por lo menos aproximadamente un 50%. En determinados 40 artículos recubiertos, las cuatro capas de contacto no cristalinas 7, 11, 17 y 21 se pueden encontrar graduadas por oxidación de dicho modo, mientras que en otras formas de realización únicamente las capas de contacto superiores 11 y 21 se pueden encontrar graduadas. En otros artículos recubiertos adicionales tres de las capas de contacto pueden encontrarse graduadas o, alternativamente, únicamente una de las capas de contacto se puede encontrar graduada por oxidación. A pesar de que el NiCrOx es un material preferido para las capas de 45 contacto descritas en la presente memoria, los expertos en la materia podrán apreciar que se pueden utilizar en su lugar otros materiales (por ejemplo, entre los que se incluyen pero sin limitarse a los mismos, NiCrOxNy, óxido de níquel, óxido de cromo, óxido de una aleación de níquel, etc.), y se pueden graduar por oxidación para permitir un sistema de recubrimiento doble de plata para mantener un factor de transmisión de la luz visible elevado y unas buenas características de baja emisividad calorífica incluso a pesar del HT. 50
[0038] La Figura 4 ilustra cómo una capa de contacto graduada por oxidación 7, 17 se puede depositar sobre un sustrato como parte de un recubrimiento utilizando una introducción asimétrica de gas oxígeno en la zona del anticátodo. El sustrato 1 con parte del sistema de capas sobre el mismo se desplaza en la dirección D por el revestidor de pulverización catódica. El anticátodo 51 de la deposición catódica que se encuentra en el interior de la cubierta protectora 53 puede comprender NiCr o cualquiera de los anticátodos que incluyen Ni descritos 55 anteriormente cuando la capa de contacto (por ejemplo, la capa 7) está constituida por o incluye NiCrOx. Se pueden utilizar otros anticátodos metálicos o de cerámica cuando se utilicen otros materiales como capa(s) de contacto. Cuando el sustrato 1 se desplaza en la dirección D por debajo del anticátodo 51, se introduce el gas alrededor del anticátodo sobre los dos lados 57 y 59 del mismo. En un lado 57 del anticátodo 51 se suministra por lo menos gas oxígeno (por ejemplo, O2) (por ejemplo, un flujo de oxígeno comprendido aproximadamente 60 entre 30 y 60 ml/min a 4,1 kW), y opcionalmente una mezcla de oxígeno y un gas inerte como el argón (Ar), en
la zona de recubrimiento que se encuentra por debajo y/o en la proximidad del anticátodo. Sin embargo, en el otro lado 59 del anticátodo 51, se utiliza menos gas oxígeno y se introduce una cantidad superior de otro gas tal como Ar en la zona de recubrimiento que se encuentra por debajo y/o en la proximidad del anticátodo. A título de ejemplo, en el lado 57 del anticátodo el flujo de gas puede comprender cualquiera de entre: (a) un 100% de oxígeno, (b) una mezcla de oxígeno y argón en una proporción de 70/30, (c) una mezcla de oxígeno y argón en 5 una proporción de 50/50, (d) una mezcla de oxígeno y argón en una proporción de 30/70, o (e) una mezcla de oxígeno, argón y nitrógeno en una proporción de 50/25/25; mientras que en el otro lado 59 del anticátodo el flujo de gas puede comprender cualquiera de entre: (a) un 100% de argón o de otro gas inerte, (b) una mezcla de argón y nitrógeno en una proporción de 50/50, o (c) una mezcla de argón y oxígeno en una proporción de 90/100. De este modo, el flujo de gas oxígeno en el lado 57 del anticátodo es superior al del otro lado 59. Por lo 10 tanto, debido a que el sustrato 1 pasa por debajo del anticátodo 51, la primera parte de la capa 7 a depositar se encuentra muy oxidada debida a la presencia del gas oxígeno en el lado 57 del anticátodo, pero la parte posterior de la capa 7 a depositar se encuentra mucho menos oxidada debido a la falta de gas oxígeno en el lado de salida 59 del anticátodo. Por lo tanto, en la proximidad del anticátodo 51, el sustrato pasa en primer lugar por una zona de recubrimiento por deposición catódica enriquecida con gas oxígeno y a continuación pasa 15 por una zona de recubrimiento por deposición catódica escasa en gas oxígeno. Una vez se ha depositado la capa 7 de la Figura 4, el sustrato continúa desplazándose de modo que el anticátodo 60 se puede utilizar para realizar el recubrimiento por deposición catódica de la capa 9 sobre el sustrato sobre las capas ya depositadas.
[0039] Las cantidades de oxígeno y/u otro(s) gas(es) se pueden ajustar, por supuesto, a la graduación por oxidación de las capas de contacto de cualquier modo que se pretenda. Cuando se pretende graduar la(s) 20 capa(s) de contacto 11, 21 en el lado superior de la capa reflectante de IR 9, 19, el flujo de gas ilustrado en la Figura 4 y descrito anteriormente se invierte de modo que el flujo que incluya una cantidad superior de oxígeno se encuentra en el lado de salida 59 del anticátodo y el flujo con una cantidad menor o sin oxígeno se encuentra en el lado de entrada 57 del anticátodo.
EJEMPLOS 1-3 25
[0040] En cada uno de los siguientes tres ejemplos, se realizó la deposición catódica en el sistema de recubrimiento/capa 27 ilustrado en la Figura 5 sobre un gran sustrato de vidrio flotado transparente de sílice sodocálcica 1 de 2,1 mm de espesor y, a continuación, se cortó en una muestra de por lo menos 3'' x 3''. Se utilizó un aparato de recubrimiento por deposición catódica Leybold Terra-G de seis cámaras para realizar la deposición catódica de los recubrimientos 27 sobre los sustratos 1. En cada cámara se encontraban cinco 30 cátodos, de modo que había un total de 30 anticátodos en el revestidor de pulverización catódica. La numeración de los cátodos utiliza el primer dígito para hacer referencia a la cámara del revestidor y el segundo dígito para hacer referencia a la posición del cátodo en dicha cámara. Por ejemplo, el cátodo nº 32 era el segundo cátodo (segundo dígito) en la tercera (primer dígito) cámara de deposición catódica. Los cátodos nº C13, C14, C23, C62, C31, C32, C62, C64 y C65 eran cátodos del tipo Twin Mag II; El cátodo nº C42 era un 35 cátodo dual del tipo C-Mag; y los cátodos C44, C51 y C53 eran cátodos planos. Tal como podrán apreciar los expertos en la materia, se puede depositar la primera mitad del recubrimiento 27 en un revestidor de pulverización catódica y a continuación se puede hacer pasar de nuevo por el revestidor para realizar la deposición catódica de la segunda mitad del recubrimiento sobre el sustrato. En el revestidor de pulverización catódica, se realizó la deposición catódica de las capas 7-11 y 17-21 sobre el sustrato utilizando una deposición 40 catódica con corriente continua (CC), mientras que la deposición catódica de las otras capas se realizó sobre el sustrato utilizando un sistema del tipo de corriente alterna (CA) de media frecuencia. A continuación, “*” indica un contenido en Al aproximadamente del 10%. La velocidad de línea en cada ejemplo fue de 2,6 metros por minuto (m/min). La configuración del revestidor/procedimiento en los tres ejemplos se ilustra en la Tabla 5. Todos los flujos de gas (por ejemplo, oxígeno, argón, nitrógeno) se presentan en unidades de ml/minuto. En los 45 ejemplos que se encuentran a continuación, a pesar de que no se ilustra en las tablas, el flujo de oxígeno se desactivó en los lados de los anticátodos de NiCr descritos anteriormente a fin de realizar la graduación por oxidación de las capas de contacto 11 y 31 tal como se ilustra en la Figura 3(b) (es decir, únicamente se realizó la graduación por oxidación de las dos capas de contacto 11 y 21 por encima de las respectivas capas de plata en dichos ejemplos). Los voltios se refieren a los voltios catódicos y los amperios (A) se refieren a los amperios 50 catódicos. "Aj" representa ajuste; y consola de ajuste (Aj), ajuste (Aj) medio y bomba de ajuste (Aj) se determinan todos ellos en ml/min. La presión se determina en mbar x 10-3. El gas de ajuste se refiere a los flujos de gas regulados individualmente a lo largo de la longitud del cátodo para realizar correcciones en relación con la uniformidad del espesor de la capa. Los anticátodos de NiCr presentaban una proporción aproximadamente de 80/20 NiCr. El procedimiento de cada ejemplo se divide en tres tablas separadas (es decir, parte nº 1-3) 55 debido a que se presenta tanta información; únicamente los datos del cátodo y el anticátodo se indican en las tres tablas en cada ejemplo para facilitar la consulta. Ambas capas de nitruro de silicio 5 y 15 eran ricas en Si a lo largo de su(s) espesor(es) total(es): tal como se puede observar gracias al hecho de que se utilizó mucho más gas inerte argón (Ar) que gas nitrógeno en la deposición catódica de dichas capas de nitruro de silicio.

[0051] A continuación, los artículos monolíticos recubiertos sometidos a tratamiento térmico de los ejemplos 1-3 se laminaron cada uno de ellos con otro correspondiente sustrato de vidrio flotado transparente de sílice sodocálcica 1 de 2,1 mm de espesor de 3 pulgadas x 3 pulgadas, con una capa de PVB (aproximadamente de 0,8 mm de espesor) disponiéndose entre los sustratos de un modo conocido, y el recubrimiento 27 dispuesto sobre la superficie nº 2 tal como se ilustra en la Figura 2. A continuación, los artículos laminados recubiertos 5 resultantes (véase la Figura 2) se analizaron/determinaron y se halló que mostraban las siguientes características detalladas en la Tabla 7. En la tabla 7 el lado del vidrio (G) es el mismo que el del exterior del vehículo de la Figura 2 mientras que el lado de la película (F) es el mismo que el del interior del vehículo de la Figura 2.

Además, se descubrió que cada uno de los ejemplos 1-3 resultaba químicamente y mecánicamente duradero tal como se definen dichos términos posteriormente, tanto antes como después del HT.
[0052] Tal como se ha podido observar anteriormente, al depositar cada una de las capas de nitruro de silicio, se utilizó más gas Ar que gas N en el procedimiento de deposición catódica. En los ejemplos la proporción Ar/N es aproximadamente de 225/165 (o 1,36) tal como se ha podido observar anteriormente. En las formas de 5 realización preferidas de la presente invención la proporción Ar/N se encuentra comprendida entre aproximadamente 1,15 y 3,0, más preferentemente entre aproximadamente 1,20 y 2,0, y lo más preferible entre aproximadamente 1,2 y 1,5. Dicha proporción, que utiliza una cantidad superior de un gas inerte (por ejemplo, Ar) que de nitrógeno en la deposición catódica de las capas de nitruro de silicio, permite que las capas de nitruro de silicio resultantes sean ricas en Si tal como se ha descrito anteriormente. 10
[0053] La Tabla 8 que se encuentra a continuación compara, en el caso de la estructura laminar HT del Ejemplo 1, las características de visión con un ángulo de visión (AV) normal en relación con un AV de 60º fuera del eje (es decir, el AV de 60º es 60 grados desde el AV normal). Tal como se puede observar, el ejemplo 1 se caracteriza por una estabilidad del color sustancial a lo largo de este amplio intervalo de ángulos de visión, de modo que un observador mirando a la estructura laminar del Ejemplo 1 tanto desde el AV normal (es decir, recto 15 de modo que la línea o lugar es perpendicular al plano del artículo) como desde el AV de 60º no apreciará mucho cambio en el color, si aprecia alguno. Ello se debe al bajo valor de la reflectancia Δa* desde el lado del vidrio (G) (es decir, Δa* indica la diferencia entre a* en el AV normal y el AV desplazado 60º). Nota: el color de los sesenta grados es III, D65, para un observador estándar desde 10 grados.

[0060] Los términos "emisividad" (o emitancia) y "factor de transmisión" resultan muy conocidos en la técnica y se utilizan en la presente memoria según su significado muy conocido. De este modo, por ejemplo, el término "factor de transmisión" en la presente memoria significa transmitancia solar, que comprende la transmitancia de luz visible (TY o Tvis), la transmitancia de energía infrarroja (TIR) y la transmitancia de luz ultravioleta (TUV). La transmitancia de energía solar total (TS o Tsolar) se puede caracterizar como la media ponderada de dichos otros 5 valores. En relación con dichas transmitancias, el factor de transmisión de luz visible se puede caracterizar para usos arquitectónicos mediante la técnica de iluminación estándar C, 2 grados, mientras que el factor de transmisión de luz visible se puede caracterizar para los usos relacionados con los vehículos mediante la técnica de iluminación estándar III. A, 2 grados (para dichas técnicas, véase por ejemplo el documento ASTM E-308-95, incorporado a la presente memoria a modo de referencia). Para la emisividad se utiliza un intervalo de 10 infrarrojos específico (es decir, 2.500-40.000 nm). En la solicitud provisional mencionada anteriormente, cuyas prioridades se reivindican en la presente memoria, se pueden encontrar diversas normas de cálculo/medida para algunos y/o todos los parámetros anteriores.

[0062] El término "turbidez" se define del siguiente modo. La luz diseminada en varias direcciones provoca una pérdida del contraste. El término "turbidez" se define en la presente memoria según ASTM D 1003 que define la 20 turbidez como el porcentaje de luz que al atravesar se desvía del rayo de incidencia un valor superior a 2,5 grados en promedio. La "turbidez" en la presente memoria se puede determinar mediante el medidor de visibilidad Byk Gardner (todos los valores de turbidez en la presente memoria se determinan mediante dicho medidor de visibilidad y no presentan unidades).
[0063] La "emisividad" (o emitancia) (E) es una medida o característica tanto de la absorción como de la 25 reflectancia de luz a unas longitudes de onda determinadas. Habitualmente se representa mediante la fórmula:

[0064] Para usos arquitectónicos, los valores de emisividad resultan bastante importantes en la denominada "zona media", a veces denominada "zona lejana" del espectro infrarrojo, es decir, aproximadamente 2.500 a 40.000 nm, por ejemplo, tal como se especifica en el programa Window 4.1 LBL-35298 (1994) de los 30 Laboratorios Lawrence Berkeley, tal como se hace referencia posteriormente. El término "emisividad" tal como se utiliza en la presente memoria, se utiliza, por lo tanto, para hacer referencia a los valores de emisividad medidos en dicha zona infrarroja tal como especifica la normativa ASTM E 1585-93 titulada "Standard Test Method for Measuring and Calculating Emittance of Architectural Flat Glass Products Using Radiometric Measurements". Dicha normativa y sus disposiciones se incorporan en la presente memoria a modo de 35 referencia. En dicha normativa, la emisividad se presenta como la emisividad hemisférica (En) y la emisividad normal (En).
[0065] La acumulación real de datos para realizar la medición de dichos valores de emisividad es convencional y se puede realizar utilizando, por ejemplo, un espectrómetro Beckman modelo 4260 con un accesorio "VW" (Beckman Scientific Inst. Corp.). Dicho espectrómetro determina la reflectancia en relación con la longitud de 40 onda y, a partir de ello, se calcula la emisividad utilizando la normativa ASTM Standard 1585-93 mencionada anteriormente.
[0066] Otro término utilizado en la presente memora es "resistencia laminar". La resistencia laminar (Rs) es un término muy conocido en la técnica y se utiliza en la presente memoria según su significado muy conocido. Se presenta en la presente memoria en ohmios por unidades cuadradas. Hablando de un modo general, dicho 45 término se refiere a la resistencia en ohmios para cualquier cuadrado de un sistema de capas dispuesto sobre un sustrato de vidrio para una corriente eléctrica que atraviesa dicho sistema de capas. La resistencia laminar constituye un indicador de la eficacia de la capa o sistema de capas en la reflexión de la energía infrarroja y, de este modo, se utiliza habitualmente junto con la emisividad como una medida de dicha característica. La "resistencia laminar" se puede determinar adecuadamente, por ejemplo, utilizando un ohmímetro con una sonda 50 de cuatro puntos, tal como una sonda de resistividad desechable de 4 puntos con un cabezal de Magnetron Instruments Corp., modelo M-800 producido por Signatone Corp. en Santa Clara, California.
[0067] Las expresiones "durabilidad química" o "químicamente duradero" se utilizan en la presente memoria como sinónimos del término de la técnica "químicamente resistente" o "estabilidad química". La durabilidad química se determina al poner en ebullición una muestra de 2'' x 5'' de un sustrato de vidrio recubierto 55 aproximadamente en 500 cc de HCl al 5% durante 5 minutos (es decir, aproximadamente a 220 ºF-104 °C). En la presente memoria se considera que la muestra pasa dicha prueba (y por lo tanto el sistema de capas es
"químicamente resistente" o se considera que es "químicamente duradero" o que presenta "durabilidad química") si permanece por lo menos la mitad del sistema de capas de la muestra tras 5 minutos.
[0068] La expresión "durabilidad mecánica" se utiliza en la presente memoria tal como se define mediante el siguiente ensayo. El ensayo utiliza una máquina de ensayos de abrasión de Pacific Scientific (o equivalente) en el que se pasa cíclicamente sobre el sistema de capas un cepillo con cerdas de nilón de 2'' x 4'' x 1'' (por 5 ejemplo, tal como lo realiza Wright Bernet de Franklin Park, Illinois, modelo 1280 Hand & Nail Brush) en 500 ciclos utilizando 150 g de peso, aplicado a una muestra de 6'' x 17''. En dicho ensayo, si no aparecen rayas sustanciales apreciables cuando se observa a simple vista bajo la luz visible, se considera que pasa la prueba y se dice que el artículo es "mecánicamente duradero" o que presenta "durabilidad mecánica".
[0069] Las expresiones "tratamiento térmico" o "termotratamiento" tal como se utilizan en la presente memoria 10 significan calentar el artículo hasta una temperatura suficiente para permitir el templado térmico, la flexión o el refuerzo térmico del artículo que comprende el vidrio. Dicha definición incluye, por ejemplo, calentar el artículo recubierto hasta una temperatura de por lo menos aproximadamente 1.100 F (por ejemplo, hasta una temperatura desde aproximadamente 550 C hasta 900 C) durante un período suficiente para permitir el templado. 15

Claims (7)

  1. REIVINDICACIONES
    1. Artículo recubierto termotratable que comprende:
    un sistema de capas soportado por un sustrato de vidrio, sistema de capas que comprende desde el sustrato hacia el exterior:
    una capa de nitruro de silicio rico SixNy en Si en la que x/y se encuentra comprendida entre 0,85 y 1,2 5 en toda la capa;
    una primera capa de contacto; y
    una capa reflectante de IR que incluye plata (Ag) u oro.
  2. 2. Artículo recubierto según la reivindicación 1, en el que el artículo recubierto se trata térmicamente.
  3. 3. Artículo recubierto según la reivindicación 1, en el que el sistema de capas comprende además al menos 10 una capa de dióxido de titanio dispuesta entre dicho sustrato y dicha capa de nitruro de silicio SixNy rico en Si.
  4. 4. Artículo recubierto según la reivindicación 1, en el que dicha primera capa de contacto comprende NiCrOx y dicha capa reflectante de IR comprende Ag.
  5. 5. Artículo recubierto según la reivindicación 4, que comprende además una segunda capa de contacto que comprende NiCrOx sobre dicha capa reflectante de IR y por lo menos una capa dieléctrica sobre la segunda 15 capa de contacto.
  6. 6. Artículo recubierto según la reivindicación 1, que comprende además otra capa de nitruro de silicio SixNy rico en Si en la que x/y se encuentra comprendida entre 0,76 y 1,5 dispuesta sobre dicha capa reflectante de IR, en la que se dispone por lo menos una capa entre dicha otra capa de nitruro de silicio SixNy rico en Si y dicha capa reflectante de IR. 20
  7. 7. Artículo recubierto según la reivindicación 6, que comprende además otra capa reflectante de IR dispuesta sobre dicha otra capa de nitruro de silicio SixNy rico en Si.
