Abstract

Procedimiento para la preparación de beta-caroteno, caracterizado porque se somete el 2,6,11,15-tetrametil-hexadecahexaeno-(2,4,6,10,12,14)-ina-(8)-dial-(1,16), en un orden de sucesión cualquiera, por una parte a una condensación con una beta-ciclogeranileno-triaril-fosfina cuyos grupos arilo pueden llevar radicales alcoilo o alcoxi, en el seno de un disolvente inerte, y por otra parte, a una hidrogenación parcial del enlace triple central y a la isomerización.
