Abstract
An apparatus for treating a piece of yarn in movement, which comprises in combination a yarn supply system, a collection system thereof, an elongated heating rod and located in the yarn path, a system that creates a sharp edge and located in close proximity to the periphery of said heating rod, and a system for positively feeding said yarn making it reach the heating system at a constant speed with respect to the speed, to which it is collected by said collection system with which, when a spinning line is made to come into contact with said rod and withdrawn over said sharp edge, the uniformity of the tension of the yarn can be achieved by passing it in contact with the sharp edge, by the combined action of the positive feeding and heating of the yarn, at the same time that the magnitude of the tension of the yarn, on passing it in contact with said sharp edge, can be regul easily varying the total arc along which said yarn is in contact with the peripheral surface of said heating rod.
