Abstract

<PICT:0798404/IV (a)/1> In wet-spinning apparatus wherein the freshly spun threads pass through a straight cylindrical tube attached to the spinneret assembly, the tube is made of soft rubber or similar flexible but self-supporting material and is attached to the assembly by means of protuberances on the assembly or the tube and corresponding circumferential hollow parts on the tube or the assembly. As shown, viscose is supplied through a tube 3 to a spinneret assembly 2 mounted in a spin bath container. The tube 3 terminates in a flange 5 and is surrounded by a sleeve 6 having an exterior thread. A cap nut 11 surrounding the spinneret 10 is screwed so far on the sleeve 6 that the rubber rings 7, 8, as well as filter fabric 9, are pressed together to give the desired sealing. This cap nut has four equally spaced external protuberances 12 which, besides facilitating the unscrewing of the nut, are used to hold the tube 13 on the spinneret assembly 2. Tube 13 made of soft rubber or similar flexible but self-supporting material and resistant to hot dilute sulphuric acid, has four equally spaced apertures 14, each shaped just to receive a protuberance 12, thus holding the tube coaxially with the spinneret 10. In addition to the apertures 14, tube 13 has six longitudinal slits 15 which extend over less than one-quarter of the length of the tube projecting beyond the face of the spinneret and through which the spin bath liquid reaches the freshly spun thread 16.
