Procedimiento para la extracción de ácido tartárico y de potasio como nitrato potásico puro a partir de materiales tartáricos, caracterizado porque los materiales tartáricos de baja concentración no calcinados son tratados con ácido nítrico y ácido sulfúrico fríos, utilizando un exceso de ácido nítrico que asegura la completa extracción del ácido tartárico y la completa recuperación del nitrato potásico, y se añade a la solución obtenida por este tratamiento los materiales tartáricos de alta concentración, calentando luego a una temperatura comprendida entre 60 y 70º C, valiéndose del exceso de ácido nítrico introducido en la fase precedente.
