Abstract

A tool mounting apparatus for a machine, in which a tool, once adjusted in its machining position, is adapted to perform a machining operation characteristic of the tool; including a tool holder comprising a tool holder provided with an opening in which the tool can be received and held in an adjustable way between tool position limits comprising a predetermined tool position corresponding to said machining position; adjusting means in said tool holder for presetting the tool in said opening in said predetermined tool position, a mounting member in said machine in defined spatial relation with respect to the position of a part to be worked in said machine; and means for adjustable and removable positioning of said tool holder, with the tool preset therein, on said mounting member and at said predetermined tool position, for locating and supporting the preset tool in said machining position.
