Abstract
Process for the preparation of compounds of the general formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R is a lower alkyl group, R 'is an alkyl group having between 1 and 12 carbon atoms in the alkyla chain, and n is an integer between 2 and 12 inclusive, which method comprises: a) heating a N, N-bis- (-haloethyl) -arylamine of the general formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R is a lower alkyl group and X is chloro, bromo or iodo, with an alkoxyalkylamine of the general formula: H2N-(CH2)n-OR' wherein R 'and n have the values indicated above in the presence of an acid acceptor; b) heating a compound of the general formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R is a lower alkyl group, with a compound of the general formula: X(CH2)nOR' wherein R ', n and X have the above-indicated values, or a lower alkyl ester of an aromatic sulfonic acid, and treatment of the reaction product with an alkaline reagent to form the free base.
