Abstract

Un procedimiento para digerir una biomasa que comprende lignina, junto con celulosa y/o hemicelulosa, que comprende las etapas de: (a) hacer contactar la biomasa con un primer disolvente para disolver la celulosa y/o la hemicelulosa, (b) hacer contactar la celulosa y/o la hemicelulosa disueltas con un precipitante para formar un precipitado que comprende celulosa y/o hemicelulosa y lignina residual, en la que el precipitante se selecciona de entre el grupo constituido por alcanos, éteres y ésteres y (c) hacer contactar el precipitado con un segundo disolvente para eliminar la lignina residual del precipitado.

Experimentos de precipitación a partir de una disolución de H3PO4
Se llevaron a cabo experimentos de precipitación de celulosa y hemicelulosa a partir de una disolución de ácido
5 fosfórico (H3PO4), como primer disolvente, usando distintos precipitantes. Precipitantes, conocidos en el estado de la técnica a tal efecto, incluyen acetona y etanol. En experimentos de control se usaron, como precipitantes, anisol, DMSO y 1,4-dioxano. Los precipitantes, según la invención, que se usaron fueron éter MtB, éter metil ciclopentilíco (CPME), éter diisopropílico, acetoacetato de etilo, isooctano, xilol, acetato de etilo, acetato de propilo, propionato de etilo, acetato de isopropilo, acetato t-butílico, pentanoato de metilo, formiato de isoamilo, formiato de etilo y distintas
10 mezclas de los mismos (véanse la tabla 2 y la figura 3).
Se mezclaron 2,5 g de una disolución de ácido fosfórico / lignocelulosa (0,109 g de lignocelulosa/g) con distintas cantidades de un precipitante, como se muestra en la tabla 2, y, posteriormente, se centrifugaron durante 15 minutos a 5000 rpm en una centrífuga de mesa. Se desechó el sobrenadante y se midió la masa del precipitado como
15 indicador de precipitante residual en el precipitado.

Experimentos de fermentación
25 Se realizan experimentos de fermentación para mostrar que el sustrato pretratado no inhibe las bacterias debido al disolvente residual o al precipitante del pretratamiento, es decir, el procedimiento de digestión o mediante una sustancia tóxica (tal como furfural) que se podría haber formado durante el procedimiento de pretratamiento. Esto muestra directamente que, en el procedimiento de pretratamiento, no es necesaria una etapa de desintoxicación laboriosa o cara.
