Abstract
Un sistema generador de aerosol calentado eléctricamente para recibir un sustrato formador de aerosol, el sistema comprende un elemento de calentamiento (121) que comprende un primer elemento conductor eléctrico (105) eléctricamente aislado de un segundo elemento conductor eléctrico (109) por una parte eléctricamente aislante (103), los primer y segundo elementos son alargados y se conectan eléctricamente entre sí por una parte eléctricamente resistiva (117, 119), caracterizado por que la parte eléctricamente resistiva tiene una resistencia más alta que los elementos conductores eléctricos, y en donde al menos un elemento conductor eléctrico y la parte eléctricamente resistiva se disponen de manera que están al menos parcialmente en contacto con el sustrato formador de aerosol.

elemento de calentamiento se corta usando los electrodos o pinzas, los óxidos separan el primer elemento conductor eléctrico del segundo elemento conductor eléctrico, aumentando de este modo la resistencia del elemento de calentamiento en la porción eléctricamente resistiva del elemento de calentamiento.
El valor de la resistencia de la porción eléctricamente resistiva puede controlarse mediante la aplicación de calor adicional cuando se corta el elemento de calentamiento o se forma la porción resistiva. Mientras más alta sea la temperatura aplicada a la porción resistiva del elemento de calentamiento cuando el elemento de calentamiento se corta o cuando la unión resistiva se forma, menor será la resistencia de la porción resistiva. La resistencia es alta cuando no se aplica calentamiento cuando se forma la porción resistiva.
La Figura 14 muestra un diagrama de circuito eléctrico que es eléctricamente equivalente al elemento de calentamiento mostrado en la Figura 10. La porción resistiva 117 tiene una resistencia W. Un resistor eléctrico permite que la corriente eléctrica fluya a través de esta si una diferencia de tensión se aplica a través de sus terminales. El resistor es un componente óhmico que produce una caída de tensión V a través de este proporcional a la corriente que fluye a través de este. Es decir V = IR, donde R se refiere a la resistencia del resistor.
La porción resistiva del elemento de calentamiento se localiza en el primer extremo del elemento de calentamiento. El primer elemento conductor eléctrico y el segundo elemento conductor eléctrico son eléctricamente equivalentes a los alambres 141, 143 mostrados en la Figura 14, los cuales conectan la porción resistiva a la fuente de tensión V+ y V-en los terminales 145, 147 respectivamente.
La Figura 16 muestra el perfil de temperatura de estado estacionario T del elemento de calentamiento como una función de la distancia d a lo largo del elemento de calentamiento eléctrico. Debido a que la resistencia del elemento de calentamiento en el primer extremo es más alta que la resistencia del elemento de calentamiento en cualquier otra parte, el elemento de calentamiento predominantemente se calienta en el primer extremo, por el efecto de calentamiento de Joule, cuando la corriente eléctrica fluye. El calor se desplaza entonces hacia abajo desde el extremo más caliente del elemento de calentamiento (en el primer extremo) hacia el segundo extremo del elemento de calentamiento que es inicialmente más frío que el primer extremo del elemento de calentamiento.
En una realización alternativa, no mostrada en las figuras, la porción resistiva no se forma en el primer extremo 102 del elemento de calentamiento. La porción resistiva puede formarse a una distancia separada del primer extremo 102 del elemento de calentamiento. En ese caso, preferentemente, la porción resistiva se forma a mitad de camino a lo largo de la longitud del segundo material conductor eléctrico. Es decir, que la porción resistiva se forma a una distancia de 0,5e separada del primer extremo 102 del elemento de calentamiento. Esto tiene la ventaja que el perfil de temperatura de estado estacionario del elemento de calentamiento es sustancialmente simétrico alrededor del centro del elemento de calentamiento, y conduce a un calentamiento más uniforme.
La Figura 11 muestra una sección transversal a través de un elemento de calentamiento de acuerdo con una realización adicional de la invención. En la Figura 11, se usan los mismos números de referencia que en la Figura 10. En esta realización, dos porciones resistivas se forman en el elemento de calentamiento. La primera porción resistiva 117 puede formarse en el primer extremo 102 del elemento de calentamiento. La segunda porción resistiva 119 puede formarse a una distancia g medida desde el primer extremo 102 del elemento de calentamiento. Es decir, la segunda porción resistiva es una unión resistiva. La longitud total del segundo elemento conductor eléctrico se denomina e. La segunda porción resistiva 119 se forma a una distancia f medida desde el segundo extremo 106 del segundo elemento conductor eléctrico. Es decir, la distancia total e = f + g. Preferentemente, como se muestra en la Figura 13, la segunda porción resistiva 119 se forma a mitad de camino a lo largo de la longitud del segundo elemento conductor eléctrico. Es decir, f = g = 0.5e.
La Figura 13 muestra el perfil de resistencia R del elemento de calentamiento mostrado en la Figura 11 graficada como una función de la distancia d a lo largo del elemento de calentamiento. Esto muestra que la longitud del segundo elemento conductor eléctrico, medida como la distancia del segundo elemento conductor eléctrico entre su primer y segundo extremos, es e. En este diagrama, la resistencia en las porciones resistivas del elemento de calentamiento en el primer extremo (porción resistiva 117) y a una distancia g medida desde el primer extremo del elemento de calentamiento (porción resistiva 119) es más alta que la resistencia de los primer y segundo elementos conductores eléctricos que no están en las porciones resistivas.
La Figura 15 muestra un diagrama de circuito eléctrico el cual es eléctricamente equivalente al elemento de calentamiento mostrado en la Figura 11. Este muestra que la primera porción resistiva 117 se localiza en el primer extremo del elemento de calentamiento. Como se describió previamente, una segunda porción resistiva 119 se localiza a una distancia g separada del primer extremo 102 del elemento de calentamiento. La primera porción resistiva 117 tiene una resistencia X, mientras que la segunda porción resistiva 119 tiene una resistencia Y. El primer elemento conductor eléctrico y el segundo elemento conductor eléctrico son eléctricamente equivalentes a los alambres 141 y 143 mostrados en la Figura 15, los cuales conectan las porciones resistivas a la fuente de tensión V+ y V-en los terminales 145 y 147 respectivos.
