Abstract

A trim strip suitable for securing to a side of a vehicle body is disclosed, which comprises an elongate body portion (1) formed of a resilient material and having in at least one first surface region (4) at least one elongate groove (5) which extends the length of the body portion (1) and has side walls each provided with a recess (5A) an elongate metal member (8) secured to and extending along the body portion (1) in a second surface region thereof remote from the or each said first surface region (4), for providing a degree of rigidity adhesive means (9, 10) on that side of the metal member (8) remote from said second surface region of the body portion (1), for securing the trim strip to a side of a vehicle body at least one decorative strip (6) captured by its edge regions in the recesses (5A) of the side walls of the or the respective groove (5) and extending over the length of the groove (5) except for the two end regions thereof and, in respect of the or each groove (5), two filler elements (7) having substantially the same cross-section as the groove (5) and located in the respective end regions thereof. End regions of the body portion (1) and filler elements (7) can be cut or trimmed as desired, without the need for separate end caps or plugs.
