Abstract
Un cartucho (200) para su uso en un sistema generador de aerosol, el sistema generador de aerosol comprende un dispositivo generador de aerosol (100), el cartucho se configura para su uso con el dispositivo, en donde el dispositivo comprende un alojamiento del dispositivo (101); una bobina inductora (110) posicionada en o dentro del alojamiento; y un suministro de energía (102) conectado a la bobina inductora y configurado para proporcionar una corriente oscilante de alta frecuencia a la bobina inductora; el cartucho (200) comprende un alojamiento del cartucho (204) que contiene un sustrato formador de aerosol y un elemento susceptor de malla (210) posicionado para calentar el sustrato formador de aerosol en donde el sustrato formador de aerosol es un líquido a temperatura ambiente y puede formar un menisco en intersticio del elemento susceptor de malla (210).

Figura 5 es diferente de ese de la Figura 1. Hay dos materiales capilares distintos 202, 206 en el cartucho de la Figura 5. Un disco de un primer material capilar 206 se proporciona para contactar con el elemento susceptor 210 durante su funcionamiento. Un cuerpo más grande de un segundo material capilar 202 se proporciona en un lado opuesto del primer material capilar 206 hacia el elemento susceptor. Tanto el primer material capilar como el segundo material capilar retienen el sustrato líquido formador de aerosol. El primer material capilar 206, que contacta con el elemento susceptor, tiene una temperatura de descomposición térmica más alta (al menos 160 oC o más alta, tal como aproximadamente 250 oC) que el segundo material capilar 202. El primer material capilar 206 actúa de manera efectiva como un separador que separa el elemento susceptor calentador, el cual se calienta mucho durante su uso, del segundo material capilar 202 de manera que el segundo material capilar no se expone a temperaturas por encima de su temperatura de descomposición térmica. El gradiente térmico por el primer material capilar es tal que el segundo material capilar se expone a temperaturas por debajo de su temperatura de descomposición térmica. El segundo material capilar 202 puede seleccionarse para que tenga un rendimiento de absorción por capilaridad superior al primer material capilar 206, pueda retener más líquido por unidad de volumen que el primer material capilar y pueda ser menos caro que el primer material capilar. En este ejemplo el primer material capilar es un elemento resistente al calor, tal como un elemento de fibra de vidrio o que contiene fibra de vidrio y el segundo material capilar es un polímero tal como polietileno de alta densidad (HDPE), o tereftalato de polietileno (PET).
La Figura 6 ilustra una tercera modalidad. Solo el extremo delantero del sistema se muestra en la Figura 6 dado que pueden usarse las mismas batería y electrónica de control como se muestra en la Figura 1, que incluye el mecanismo de detección de bocanada. La tercera modalidad es similar a la segunda modalidad excepto porque se usa una bobina helicoidal que rodea el cartucho. En la Figura 6 una bobina helicoidal 138 se posiciona en el cuerpo principal 101 del dispositivo en el extremo opuesto de la cavidad hasta la porción de boquilla 120, alrededor del susceptor cuando el cartucho está en una posición de uso. El sistema funciona esencialmente de la misma manera que en la segunda modalidad. Los separadores 134 aseguran que haya un espacio de flujo de aire entre el dispositivo y el elemento susceptor 210. El sustrato formador de aerosol vaporizado se arrastra en el aire que fluye más allá del susceptor desde la entrada 137 hacia la salida 124 a través de canal de flujo de aire 135. Como en la modalidad mostrada en la Figura 5, un poco de aire puede fluir desde la entrada 137 hacia la salida 124 sin pasar por el elemento susceptor.
En la modalidad mostrada en la Figura 6, el cartucho es de los mismos tamaño y forma que el cartucho de la Figura 1 y tiene los mismos alojamiento y elemento susceptor. Sin embargo, como en la segunda modalidad, mostrada en la Figura 5, el cartucho se inserta de manera que el susceptor está en la base de la cavidad en el dispositivo, más cerca de la batería.
La Figura 7 ilustra una cuarta modalidad. Solo el extremo delantero del sistema se muestra en la Figura 7 dado que pueden usarse las mismas batería y electrónica de control como se muestra en la Figura 1, que incluye el mecanismo de detección de bocanada. En la Figura 7 el cartucho 240 es cúbico y se forma con dos tiras del elemento susceptor 242 en caras laterales opuestas del cartucho. El cartucho se muestra solo en la Figura 8. El dispositivo comprende dos bobinas espirales planas 142 posicionadas sobre los lados opuestos de la cavidad de manera que las tiras del elemento susceptor 242 son adyacentes a las bobinas 142 cuando se recibe el cartucho en la cavidad. Las bobinas 142 son rectangulares para corresponder a la forma de las tiras del susceptor, como se muestra en la Figura 9. Los pasos de flujo de aire se proporcionan entre las bobinas 142 y las tiras del susceptor 242 de manera que el aire desde las entradas 144 fluye más allá de las tiras del susceptor hacia la salida 124 cuando un usuario aspira en la porción de boquilla 120.
Como en la modalidad de la Figura 1, el cartucho contiene un material capilar y un sustrato líquido formador de aerosol. El material capilar se dispone para transportar el sustrato líquido hacia las tiras del elemento susceptor 242.
La Figura 10 es una ilustración esquemática de una quinta modalidad. Solo el extremo delantero del sistema se muestra en la Figura 10 dado que pueden usarse las mismas batería y electrónica de control como se muestra en la Figura 1, que incluye el mecanismo de detección de bocanada.
En la Figura 10 el cartucho 250 es cilíndrico y se forma con un elemento susceptor en forma de banda 252 que se extiende alrededor de una porción central del cartucho. El elemento susceptor en forma de banda cubre una abertura formada en el alojamiento rígido del cartucho. El cartucho se muestra solo en la Figura 11. El dispositivo comprende una bobina helicoidal 152 posicionada alrededor de la cavidad de manera que el elemento susceptor 252 está dentro de la bobina 152 cuando el cartucho se recibe en la cavidad. La bobina 152 se muestra sola en la Figura 12. Los pasos de flujo de aire se proporcionan entre la bobina 152 y el susceptor 252 de manera que el aire desde las entradas 154 fluye más allá de las tiras del susceptor hacia la salida 124 cuando un usuario aspira en la porción de boquilla 120.
