Abstract
Cinta multicapa (1) que comprende al menos: - una capa (3) esencialmente a base de mica, - una capa polimérica (2) que comprende entre un 60 y un 85% en peso de una carga mineral (4) y entre un 15 y un 40 % en peso de un polímero y en la que dicho polímero se selecciona dentro del grupo que consiste en poliolefina, poliéster, poliamida y poliolefinas halogenadas.

Por otra parte, el elevado precio de los tejidos de vidrio es un factor que puede limitar el uso en algunas aplicaciones de las cintas que lo utilizan como soporte. Además, el carácter abierto de estos tejidos de vidrio no ofrece mucho aislamiento al papel de mica con respecto a los vapores procedentes de la vaina del conductor. Estos vapores pueden por tanto condensarse dentro de los resquicios del papel de mica, lo que, para ciertos tipos de vaina, puede
5 reducir el tiempo de supervivencia del cable expuesto a la llama.
El carácter cerrado del soporte polimérico de la invención también permite encapsular los productos utilizados durante la preparación de la cinta en la interfaz entre las dos capas, en particular los adhesivos. Esta barrera puede, por ejemplo, permitir evitar una adhesión demasiado importante de la mica sobre el conductor, lo que facilita el
10 pelado de este conductor y evita la posibilidad de un mal contacto inducido por los residuos de mica.
También se han realizado unas pruebas comparativas con el fin de verificar el impacto de la cinta polimérica sola. En esta experiencia, la capa de mica se ha suprimido. En este caso, los cables probados no mantienen el aislamiento ni siquiera para unas tensiones inferiores a 600 V. La capa mineral dejada por el soporte después de la combustión no
15 puede, por lo tanto, explicar por sí sola la mejora de las propiedades de la cinta con respecto a la cinta soportada por tejido de vidrio (Firox 80P34A).
