Abstract
Procedimiento para la fabricación de carbonato sódico, caracterizado por aplicarse a la obtención de carbonato sódico monohidratado por acción de dióxido de carbono sobre líquidos de sosa cáustica, y por comprender una etapa de carbonatación en la que el líquido madre de una etapa de carbonatación en la que el líquido madre de una etapa de cristalización y que contiene menos del 20% en peso de NaOH y más del 6% en peso de Na2CO3 y con preferencia menos del 12% de NaOH y más del 14% de Na2CO3, se hace reaccionar a una temperatura superior a 30ºC., con un gas portador de dióxido de carbono surficiente para dar lugar a un líquido carbonatado en el que prácticamente toda la sosa cáustica se ha convertido en carbonato sódico, seguido por la etapa mencionada de cristalización, en la que el líquido carbonatado de dicha etapa de carbonatación se hace reaccionar con un líquido de sosa caustica que contiene por lo menos 56% y no más del 63% aproximadamente, en peso, de NaOH, por cuyo medio se precipita carbonato sódico monohidratado, que se separa por medios adecuados.
