La longitud del recubrimiento esta limitada sin embargo por la aparicion de deformaciones de la extremidad del faldon, especialmente pliegues que impiden un buena fijacion del faldon a la cabeza, una buna estanqueidad y una buena proteccion de la cabeza de tubo y del producto contenido. Estos pliegues aparecen sobre todo en el paso de la zona de union entre la porcion cilindrica y la porcion troncoconica, que a veces presenta una arista viva.
