Abstract
Improvements introduced in the manufacture of refractory bricks of a basic nature, especially based on magnesia or mixtures of magnesia with chromite, that the front side, at the cold end of the brick, are provided with a metal U-shaped insert for suspension, pressed together with the refractory material, which is arranged in a recess in the brick, and which have a stirrup, which preferably runs flush with the front face of the cold end of the brick, and two legs, which extend along the surfaces sides of the cut-out of the brick, being provided with slats or tabs anchored in said lateral surfaces and/or that cross the bottom of the cut-out of the brick in the direction of the hot end thereof, being anchored with their ends in the brick material, characterized because the notch at the cold end of the brick is shaped as a through groove, the metal insert being U-shaped di centrally placed in it.
