Abstract
Procedure for producing a preparation of vitamin activity suitable as an adjunct for livestock feed and especially for poultry feed, characterized in that one or several substances of vitamin activity of the class consisting of vitamin-A, beta-carotene, D2, D3 and esters of said substances, vitamin K, menadione and its bisulfite derivatives and salts thereof, as well as 2-methyl-1,4-naphthohydroquinone and salts of the esters of the phosphoric and sulfuric acids of the latter compound, and similar substances possessing vitamin K activity, are dissolved or dispersed as separate solid particles or as drops of a solution containing substances of vitamin activity in a solution of zein, after which the mixture thus obtained is divided into wet particles and distinct in a adequately and subsequently dried and subsequently divided; in separate particles containing the substances of vitamin activity incorporated in a mass consisting mainly of zein.
