Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0920757/IV(a)/1> where R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl, Q is oxygen or sulphur, and n is 2 or 3 and their preparation by reacting a compound of formula <FORM:0920757/IV(a)/2> as follows: (a) when Y is H, reacting with a compound R1NCO (b) when Y is alkali metal, reacting with R1R2NCO halogen and (c) when Y is -CO halogen, reacting with R1R2NH. The compounds of the second formula above (Y = H) are prepared by reacting an appropriate 2-imino- or 2-alkylimino-heterocyclic hydrohalide with a hydroxylamine salt such as the a hydrohalide or the sulphate. The 2-are prepared by reacting a cyanogen halide with an approximately equimolar amount of a suitable compound of formula HS(CHR3)nQH, and the 2-alkylimino-compounds by reacting a suitable alkylene dihalide with a lower alkyl ammonium alkyldithiocarbamate. Examples are given of all these preparations. The compounds of the invention are insecticides (see Group VI).ALSO:Insecticidal compositions comprise a carrier and a compound of formula <FORM:0920757/VI/1> where R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl, Q is oxygen or sulphur, and n is 2 or 3 (see Group IV (b)). Specified carriers are acetone, ethyl acetate, ethanol, benzene, kerosene, fuller's earth and bentonite. Dispersing agents may be present.
