Abstract
Process for producing polymeric particles of a styrene monomer or mixtures, of styrene and other copolymerizable monomers with which it comprises the polymerization of a stirred aqueous suspension of said monomer and further characterized in that the suspension contains a suspending agent formed by 0.04 a 1.0 part and preferably from 0.07 to 0.20 part per 100 parts of said hydroxyethyl cellulose monomer, until at least 90% of said monomer is converted into a particulate polymer, a minimum of 85% and preferably at least 95% of said particles with a diameter comprised between 0.4 and 2.0 mm and preferably between 0.84 and 2.0 and containing no more than 3% by weight of enclosed water.
