Abstract
Procedimiento para la fabricación de fundición o de acero por reducción de un mineral u óxido de hierro, caracterizado por el hecho de que comprende, introducir gas natural o metano y el mineral u óxido de hierro, directamente en un baño metálico constituido por una solución de carbono en el hierro, recubierto de una capa de escoria fundida, siendo dicha introducción realizada a un nivel inferior a la superficie del baño metálico, y siendo la cantidad de gas natural o metano suficiente para proporcionar al baño metálico una cantidad de carbono por lo menos igual a la consumida por reacción con el mineral y quemar los gases reductores liberados que escapan a través del baño metálico por medio de oxígeno introducido a un nivel superior al de la superficie de dicho baño.
