Abstract
Un sistema continuo para cultivar insectos dípteros, que comprende: una cámara de apareamiento y una unidad de bioconversión, en el que la cámara de apareamiento se adapta para alojar insectos adultos machos y hembras que se aparean para producir huevos de insecto, que se transfieren a partir de la cámara de apareamiento a la unidad de bioconversión para cría, y la unidad de bioconversión se adapta para criar larvas de insectos para producir larvas maduras que se transfieren a la cámara de apareamiento para eclosionar para producir insectos adultos; comprendiendo la cámara de apareamiento: un recinto para contener los insectos adultos, que se adapta para permitir la circulación de aire hacia adentro y hacia afuera del recinto y para admitir iluminación exterior hacia adentro del recinto, teniendo el recinto un puerto de entrada y un puerto de salida para una cámara de oviposición, y un puerto de entrada y un puerto de salida para una cámara de prepupas; un soporte de cámara de oviposición que se aloja dentro del recinto, que se adapta para transportar un sustrato de puesta de huevos en la cámara de oviposición a partir del puerto de entrada de cámara de oviposición al puerto de salida de cámara de oviposición; un soporte de cámara de prepupas que se aloja dentro del recinto, que se adapta para transportar la cámara de prepupas a partir del puerto de entrada de cámara de prepupas al puerto de salida de cámara de prepupas; un sistema de recolección de mortalidad que se dispone a lo largo de la base de la cámara de apareamiento, que se adapta para transportar insectos muertos hacia afuera de la cámara de apareamiento a través de un puerto de salida de mortalidad en el recinto; y, un mecanismo para pasaje de manera secuencial de cámaras de oviposición a través del recinto a lo largo del soporte de cámara de oviposición durante un período de oviposicionamiento medido; un mecanismo para pasaje de manera secuencial de cámaras de prepupas a través del recinto protegido a lo largo del soporte de cámara de prepupas durante un período de maduración de prepupas medido, en el que el período de maduración de prepupas es mayor que el período de oviposicionamiento; comprendiendo la unidad de bioconversión: una pluralidad de compartimentos larvarios segregados, que se adaptan cada uno de ellos para alojar larvas de insectos y medios de crecimiento; y, un mecanismo para alimentación de manera secuencial de medios de crecimiento medidos a las larvas en un compartimento larvario seleccionado; en el que los huevos que se producen en la cámara de apareamiento en el sustrato de puesta de huevos pueden sembrarse en un compartimento larvario de neonatos de la unidad de bioconversión mediante transferencia del sustrato de puesta de huevos al compartimento larvario de neonatos y provisión de una fuente de alimento para neonatos en el compartimento larvario de neonatos que resulta accesible para larvas de insectos neonatos, en el que una recolección de huevos aproximada se siembra en el compartimento de neonatos, a la que se permite que eclosione y migre lejos del sustrato de puesta de huevos, para madurar en la fuente de alimento para neonatos para producir larvas de neonatos maduras, dejando sustratos de puesta de huevos estériles; en el que los sustratos de puesta de huevos estériles se separan de manera secuencial a partir de larvas de neonatos maduras y compartimentos larvarios de neonatos, y se regresan a cámaras de oviposición en la cámara de apareamiento, y larvas de neonatos maduras se alimentan luego, de manera secuencial, con medios de crecimiento medidos en compartimentos larvarios de la unidad de bioconversión, para producir larvas maduras, y poblaciones medidas de larvas maduras se transfieren luego de manera secuencial a las cámaras de prepupas en la cámara de apareamiento para eclosionar para producir los insectos adultos.
