Abstract

A closure assembly for a bottle or the like which acts both to seal and provide a pouring aperture for the bottle comprises a cap 1 having a skirt 6 provided on its inside face with vertical grooves (not shown) which skirt receives a cylindrical ring 5 provided with exterior grooves connected to a pouring member 2. The ring 5 and member 2 and integrally moulded and joined by a zone of weakness which breaks when the assembly is fully screwed home.
