Abstract

In the production of a cultivation trough for horticultural plants, use is made of a plastic web, the material composition and cross-sectional profiling of which allow a sharp-edged cold forming of longitudinal strips of the web. Longitudinal edge strips of the web form upright side walls and a central strip a bottom for the trough. One of the longitudinal edge strips can be divided by a corresponding widening in such a manner that, in addition to a side wall, a cover for the cultivation trough can also be bent off in one piece. A free edge strip of the cover can, by a further bend, form an overlapping edge. Likewise it can be advantageous, instead of a cover designed in one piece with the trough, to close the trough with a loose cover with overlapping edges.
