Abstract

In a vertical roller mill with a grinding table (1) rotating about a vertical axis (16) and at least one grinding roller (3) forced downwards against the grinding table (1), the grinding roller is rotatably mounted on a stationary, substantially horizontal shaft (4). With the object of reducing axial forces on the bearings of the roller (3), deriving from the assymmetrical grinding pressure, each roller axis is canted by an angle preferably 1 DEG -5 DEG , in the opposite sense to the direction of rotation (15) of the grinding table.
