Abstract

A tap for gas burners in cookers and like appliances comprises a body (1) containing a gas inlet aperture (9) and a through outlet aperture (2) containing a rotary cylindrical plug (19) with a front chamber (23) and a side port (22). A bore (5) provided with a minimum-regulating needle valve and intersected by the inlet aperture (9) near the zone where the tip of the needle of the valve is located ends in the middle zone of another bore (6) whose inlet may be closed by means of a ball (29), this second bore being intersected at its end by the through aperture (2) in the zone thereof where the side port (22) of the plug (19) is situated, in order to form a minimum flow bypass separate from the main admission of gas to the tap. An elastic liner (12) has longitudinal ribs which can seal off the bypass and main-inlet (17, 18) and preferably also annular ribs which act as O-rings.
