A pipe cutter, of the kind having arms 1, 2 jaws 3, 4 the jaw 3 being attached to the arm 1 and the jaw 4 being pivoted at 41, 42 on arms 1 and 2 respectively and a self-locking mechanism, is characterized by having, attached solidly to the double-pivoted jaw 4, the end of an articulated link chain 9 fitted with a cutting disc 93 upon each of its shaft pins 92 and because on the end of the jaw 3 there are hook shaped components 30 into which anyone of the cutter disc holding shaft pins 92 may be lodged in such a manner that when the chain is placed around a pipe and pulled tight to take up any gaps, and one of its cutter disc holder shafts is inserted into the hook shaped components, movement of the tool to and fro through a small arc will cut the pipe.
